Myscha and Sharon (The Frugal Duchess) are hosting a frugality meetup in the greater Miami area this Monday afternoon from 2:00-4:00 pm.  You are all invited!  (jump to details)

The ladies will be sharing frugal tips for back-to-school and fall shopping, and doing book signings for Sharon and Wise Bread’s new books.  They’ll also be holding a free raffle for:

  • Free personal thrift consultations from Sharon and Myscha.  Here’s your chance to get some expert advice on how to live large on a small budget.
  • 2 free copies of the Wise Bread book.

This is a great opportunity to swap tips with other frugal folks in the area.  Being frugal on your own can be tough.  We are easily influenced by our peers. If your friends are eating out all the time and driving new cars, you are likely to do the same. Come meet some savvy, frugal-minded folks who take personal finance seriously.

All bloggers are welcome!  As a syndicated columnist for the Miami Herald, Sharon is always looking for great new sources of inspiration.  And if you share a great tip from your blog at the meetup, we’ll include it in our weekly roundup.

If you can’t make it, you can join the conversation on Twitter with the #cheaptalk hashtag.

A frugality meeting? At a Starbucks?

*seriously* ?

Something tells me that I should probably not heed any advice I might obtain at such a meeting.

Listening is free. A cup of coffee compared to hundreds of dollars for consults and workshops is very frugal indeed, in my humble opinion.

Check out my various projects and services at Itinerant Tightwad. I also have a monthly education newsletter.

Sounds like a bargain to me! I don't even drink coffee, but I'd find something yummy to sip or munch on. No doubt the tips I'd pick up would benefit me far more than the $5.00 I'd spend on refreshments. Wish I were in the area and could attend; have fun everyone!
