Eco Rock: Indie Musicians Banding Together

Looking for something different to do this July 4th holiday? Want to celebrate ecology and green mindedness while you’re at it? Well, if you happen to be in upstate New York, consider swinging by the Clayton Opera House for July fourth and fifth.

The event?

It’s called Rock for the River, and features a bunch of ecologically minded independent artists getting together for a common eco-cause. Protecting the St. Lawrence River. Led and founded by indie artist Jay Nash, this event is apparently an annual one. Here’s a link for more information on tickets.

Why it caught my attention?

Well, any time a bunch of people get together using art to celebrate and support a cause they are passionate for, the result is usually a fantastic time for the rest of us. Besides, it’s just plain cool. Beyond that however, it got me thinking. How many other great causes are out there being supported by talented people that we don’t know about?

So, in addition to letting you know about this eco concert, I’m asking for input Wise Bread readers. Is there something out there that so phenomenally green and fun at the same time that you think I absolutely need to know about it? Pop me a line.
