For gamers who want to take their game to the next level, a good gaming headset is an absolute necessity. A gaming headset allows you be fully-immersed in your virtual environment and hear every single sound. Depending on how seriously you plan to take your gaming, you can spend anywhere between $70 to upwards of $150 or $200 on a good headset. And while the higher-end gaming headsets will get you all the bells and whistles, lower-end headsets will still get you functional sound quality and comfort.

What Is a Gaming Headset?

A gaming headset is a combination speaker and microphone system that is specifically geared toward playing video games. Gaming headsets are popular among gamers because they allow for full immersion in the video game as well as communication to teammates and other players. The highly competitive nature of online gaming means that gamers typically vie for as great an advantage as possible, and clear audio and communication is definitely high on the list.

List is skeptical because the Turtle Beach X12s WILL start to break after <1 year. If you don't mind rebuying them, then go right ahead, but I suggest investing in something that will actually last.
