I’m a big fan of Howcast. Their website is a treasure trove of information, and you can also find their videos on popular sites like Metacafe and YouTube. Sometimes their advice is really useful, sometimes it’s just plain weird, but it’s always very entertaining. Howcast videos also end with a handy dandy fact; the icing on the cake so to speak.

Wise Bread is stuffed almost to bursting with suggestions on how to live large on a small budget. We've got suggestions on how to spend less, how to earn more, and how to take control of your finances and your career. There are certain suggestions, though, that trigger a particular kind of negative reaction: The one where people say, "I'm not the sort of person who" does whatever it is that we've suggested. It turns out that lots of people think that way. Don't do that.

I graduated from college just three years ago, so the confusion and anxiety I felt after graduating college is still quite fresh in my mind. I moved out of my parents' house a week after graduation and started at my new job, and since then I have learned a lot of things about the "real world". Here are some of my best advice for you new graduates who are transitioning from the safe structured environment of school to a seemingly infinitely larger world.

In the past few decades the Ad Council has been running an ad with the tag line "Friends Don't Let Friends Drive Drunk". This ad campaign has been instrumental in decreasing drunk driving fatalities and almost every American has heard it at one time or another. What if this ad were applied to mistakes people make in personal finance? Here are some possibilities...

Do you find it as difficult to talk to friends about money as I do? If you had friends that you believed were about to go into bankruptcy, would you do anything to try and stop them? Is it worth risking a friendship to discuss delicate matters like money?

A quick 'deal of the day' for you, and it's a great one. When my wife and I were expecting out first child we read "What To Expect When You're Expecting" from cover to cover. When the baby arrived, we quickly turned to this book. It's wonderful, it's well written and you can get it absolutely FREE.
