Hobbies generally end up in the expense category. Depending on the hobby, you may be paying for equipment, supplies, books and magazines, classes, training--the list goes on. Short of turning your hobby into a business, is there any way to get your hobby to pay its own way? Very possibly.

Unclaimed Property consists of cash and other personal assets that are considered lost or abandoned after an owner cannot be located within a specified period of time. This property may be cash, bonds, stocks, gift certificates, and contents of safety deposit boxes (jewelry, documents, etc.) The amazing thing about unclaimed property is that it is just that – unclaimed. It still belongs to the rightful owner, and by law, all they need to do is ask for it to regain possession. But how does one go about finding out about it in the first place?

9 (and a half!) things to do at work when there's no longer work to do (also good for a boring day at home!)

Making Extra Cash

Bored at Work

My job is crazy one week and snail-slow the next. During the slow times, it's easy to get sucked into the web, clicking from one page to the next, waiting for someone to have a fire that I need to put out (that's what I do--put out those proverbial fires). So I've found some things that are fun to do and that make me feel productive at the same time.

google chinese search results
Google is launching a business referral program, which means that you can earn $10 for every verified business listing that you send Google. You basically go to local businesses, tell them a bit about Google, take down some info, take some digital photos, and submit the information to Google. Kind of like Yelp, only you don't get to give much of an opinion, and you actually get cash in return.

It would. But if she were playing poker at the same time, while attacking a Pokemon and marrying The Bachelor, well, the results would be unreal. But what do you care?

If you're a blogger, or a small business, or a huge business, or an entrepreneur, it should matter a great deal. Because knowing what people are searching for on a daily basis can mean more money. Especially in the blogging/adsense business, when traffic to your site can generate some very nice income for you and your family.

Look Ma! I'm on TV! Life as a Background Actor

Posted May 10, 2007 - 14:10 by Lynn Truong

Making Extra Cash

Like most jobs low on the totem pole in entertainment, TV/movie extra work (or "Background Acting") pays practically nothing. But it (can be) fun, it's (mostly) easy, you get fed, and the amount of time you actually spend "working" is minimal. If you're unemployed in LA, like meeting new people, have a car to get around, and want to get an arm, the back of your head, or a shoulder on your favorite TV show or the next blockbuster movie, this might be the job for you!
