I'm not sure what you pay for energy each month, but combining natural gas, gas for the car and electricity, I'm way over $250. This guy, Mr. Mike Strizki, does it all for nothing.

In an interview for GREEN.MNP Mike reveals his many secrets. And none of them are secrets at all really. His background as a civil engineer obviously helped, but with a little studying, some major up-front cash (the 'catch' to the story) and some serious hard work, there's no reason we couldn't all go green and save the planet (and some green) in the process.

Packing it in - The Independent of London issues a challenge

The Independent, one of my favorite news sources, has issued a challenge to (presumably European) consumers to reduce the amount of packaging that is used in everyday products. Apparently, an unneccessarily wrapped-n-packaged "swede" (turnip) set one of the Independent's writer's environmentally-conscious heart on fire at the supermarket, and so the newspaper is proposing that consumers...what, exactly?

Well, not much, to be honest. You're supposed to write in with information about superfluous packaging, and The Independent will take the store to task, somehow.

Your gas mileage depends more on the way you drive than on what car you are driving. I can get 47 MPG on my 2001 Honda Civic (EPA’s fuel economy rating for it is 32 MPG for combined city and highway). That’s higher than what most people can get out of a hybrid Toyota Prius.
