Google lecture hall

I recently found an amazing (and I don't use that word lightly) resource from Google that I think is completely under-used and seriously under-marketed. This resource is called Google Talks and it contains over 170 fascinating lectures, given to the very lucky and privileged Google staff, most around 1 hour long.

Google pays you $10 per business referral

Making Extra Cash

google chinese search results
Google is launching a business referral program, which means that you can earn $10 for every verified business listing that you send Google. You basically go to local businesses, tell them a bit about Google, take down some info, take some digital photos, and submit the information to Google. Kind of like Yelp, only you don't get to give much of an opinion, and you actually get cash in return.

As a supplement to my last post about using WordPress to set up a personal or business website for free (minus the price of domain name registration and/or hosting), here are some ideas for enhancing the functionality of your site or blog with some plugins and other third-party add-ons. Almost all are free, although there are a few that have a nominal fee, based on what you require:

Would Paris Hilton in the WWE be the biggest draw ever for search engines?

pariscena

It would. But if she were playing poker at the same time, while attacking a Pokemon and marrying The Bachelor, well, the results would be unreal. But what do you care?

If you're a blogger, or a small business, or a huge business, or an entrepreneur, it should matter a great deal. Because knowing what people are searching for on a daily basis can mean more money. Especially in the blogging/adsense business, when traffic to your site can generate some very nice income for you and your family.

Ever dreamed of patenting a great idea that could make you a fortune? The Pet Rock maybe? Or the Jump To Conclusions mat? Well, you'll find even more crazy ideas using Google Patent Search , or even better, submit one of your own.

I've only been buzzing around on Google's patent search engine for a few minutes, but I have already found some very unusual and unique inventions. For the sake of Wisebread readers, I thought I'd look for inventions about saving money, time and hassle. I found thousands. Here are just a few of my favorites.

Is this the end of YouTube?

YouTube

GoogleWatch , one of my fav blogs about one of my fav resources, reported today on the $1billion lawsuit served to Google by Viacom . And so did almost every other news network around. I found over 1400 stories on it...this one is big it seems. One of the main rumblings I heard about the YouTube boys selling to Google was fear of a huge lawsuit, which they didn't have the funds to fight, but Google does. Hmmm.

pennies

I’m sure most of you are already fans of Google. But I wonder how many of you use Froogle, Google’s thrifty shopping aid, on a regular basis? Well, it’s well worth using if you’d like to save yourself a little cash on a lot of purchases.

Where is it?
Froogle , for a while, had pride of place on the Google home page when it was first launched. Now, it’s a little buried. The easiest way to get to it, other than clicking on the link on this page, is by navigating to the google.com homepage, then hit the more>> button. Froogle should appear in that option.
