Being a humble Green Card holder, I don’t have a vote here in the US (makes me wonder about that old “no taxation without representation” line, but that’s another story). Anyway, as the election goes into overdrive, a question has started to bubble up inside my head. If the price was right, would you sell your vote?

I’m not a Windows Vista fan. In fact, my new PC runs on XP, but uses OpenSource applications for most of my business needs. So why do I even care about a trick to get sluggish Vista browsing back to an acceptable speed? My mom uses Vista, and I love my mom.

Ok, there's not really much that I can say to top this one. After the amazing work that Kipkay did over at Metacafe, the folks at gagfilms have gone one better. They've discovered not 10 or even 20 but 32 AA batteries inside one standard 6v battery.Yup, I'm floored.

I love how the concept of hacking has changed so much over the past few years. I'm particularly taken with Hack Zine, a site the collects some of the best hacks on the web. Like Lifehacker, Hack Zine seeks out ways to make life easier, cheaper, and generally more fun.

It's easy to say that you can save money by making common, household foods or specialty items yourself, but it's much harder to figure out how to actually do that. Here are some recipes that should help:
A Couple of Recipes for Pesto
Apparently, there's some vehement disagreements as to how pesto should be made. Whichever recipe you choose, you'll save on the pre-made stuff from the grocery store and you'll be able to make as much as you need. Added props? You can flavor it to your own taste.
