There are good reasons to go to college. And, if you do go to college, you will no doubt learn a lot. But you can learn anywhere — and probably learn more, better, and faster if you do so on your own. If you choose to go to college, make sure you know what you're paying for.

Learn good financial habits from your parents. Or not.

One of the big advantages that children of the middle-class and wealthy have is that they grow up in a household where a huge amount of financial knowledge is embedded in its day-to-day functioning. Parents teach it, but it's also just there for the child to pick up, almost for free, like language and basic social skills. If you don't get this basic financial knowledge at home, it's possible to learn it other ways--but don't underestimate how much you need to pick up.

Tips for Increasing Your Financial Literacy

A recent CNN article titled "Americans are 'financially illiterate'" reports that a survey found that a large proportion of Americans they tested do not seem to understand their debt. I am not that surprised by the report because in American we really do not get very much financial education in schools. However, I think financial literacy is very important and here are some of the things I think anyone can do to gain financial knowledge.

There are many, many web sites that are devoted to helping you find actvities for your kids that boost their brain power. Turns out that there is another great way to help your kids improve their grades and keep their brains active and growing - it's simply matter of mind... over matter.
