Credit Card Offers - Now THAT'S Quality

I recently received a credit card invitation that clearly was put together by a computer or a chimpanzee, or a chimp with a computer. Inside, I am invited to apply for a credit card as a part of my business - my business, a little company apparently known as "Andrea Dickson Kimberly D Scott@ [redacted].com". You can sort of see the name in the picture of my simulated credit card from the offer, above.

Yes, I've never been good with naming businesses, so I decided to name my non-existent business after myself and my sister's email address.

Lower Credit Card Rates? Just Ask!

Posted June 7, 2007 - 09:59 by Jessica Harp

Credit Cards

Asking is easier than begging!

When’s the last time you saw the interest rate and fees on your credit card go down? Yes, you read that right. Down. If you’re like most Americans, the likely answer to this question is never. Now, what if I told you that eliminating your fees and slashing your interest rate by five, ten or fifteen percent is as easy as picking up the phone and dialing the number on the back of the card?

I'll have one Visa credit card, hold the APR

Why bother with middling details, like the interest rate? Just go ahead and get that card. Bank of America can help!

I do most of my banking at Bank of America. I don't adore Bank of America, but they've always been pretty good. Customer service is handy and friendly, and they've never really tried to screw me over. That's why I was surprised, while visiting my local branch, to see a big dry erase board behind the counter with the words "WANT 20,000 FREE AIR MILES? ASK US HOW!" written on it.

Dear Capital One,

I think we need to have a talk.

My beef with you has been documented here. Readers know that I tried, many a time, to get lower interest rates from you so I could pay down my debt faster. I have a good income. I have good credit. I had been using your credit card for a long time - you owed me that.

Going Crazy

What happens when you try to transfer funds to or from any account having to do with WaMu? Nothing good, apparently (thanks to Consumerist for that link). For all their talk about customer service, WaMu hasn't done too well for my husband and I over the last month.

Credit Cards

The average American has around 8 credit cards and is carrying roughly $9000 in credit card debt. Credit Card Companies Still Evil; Congress Surprised

Posted 2 years ago by Andrea Dickson

Credit card companies are all kinds of evil. I know it, you know it. Now Congress knows it. Credit card companies do all kinds of nasty things (see below!) to take your hard-earned cash, so it's kind of nice to know that our government wants to do something about it.

I Don't Love Capital One - How to Get a Lower APR, or Possibly Not

Posted 2 years ago by Andrea Dickson

I knew there was a reason that I chose capitalone-bites-the-big-one772 as my log in name for my online credit card account. It's because, well, Capital One bites. I'm a good customer of Capital One; I keep a revolving balance that should make them happy, and I pay my bill religiously.
