Sears going crazy

Very quick and super deal for you folks, to follow my vent on mortgages. And considering what I was saying, we need to save every penny we can. Anyway, Sears is going a little gaga and selling off a whole bunch of decent clothes for 90% off, sometimes more! How much more? Well, when you click on the link you'll be greeted by items that have been reduced from $20-$30 to just 99 cents. I'm not even sure you could find a deal like that for a used sweater at a charity store.

After weeks of comparison shopping, internet research, and a rising temperature and near-drowning humidity, we were prepared to take the plunge. Our anti-air-conditioning ways were soon to change. I sent my husband to pick up the portable model we had dreamed of, only to find that we had missed the big sale by one day. Were we just out of luck?

I remember the first time I picked out my own brand new school clothes. They were made by Oshkosh (or OshKosh B’Gosh at that time), and they were fashionable and affordable. What’s changed since then? Not much, actually. The clothes are still cute, and for a very limited time, about the same price they were when I was growing up!

Deals and Coupons

OK, this is HUGE news! Coming from Maine, I’ve always been an L.L. Bean fan. They make great stuff, have a fabulous return policy, and if you can manage to get to Freeport where the regular catalog store is, they also have a factory rejects outlet just a street or two away. And while I’m always on the look-out for super deals, free shipping and online sales, this little bit of information I just got today beats every frugal L.L. Bean shopping tip I’ve ever heard. And you can put it to use every Thursday until further notice.

Since I got married people have been constantly asking me two questions. One is, "are you pregnant yet?", and the other is "are you going to buy a house?" One day I told someone that I do not want to afford a house right now and he asked me what I meant, and I told him my reasons why I should not buy something just because I can afford it now.
