I started my career as a financial advisor in Carbondale, IL with A.G. Edwards & Sons in 2001. Always excited to meet new people and having a unique interest in the financial markets, being a financial planner was the perfect fit for my career.
I spent 9 years in the National Guard (originally joined when I was living in California) and was deployed to Iraq in 2005 to do military police maneuvers. I returned safely in March of 2006 and resumed my career.
2007 was a busy year as I became a Certified Financial Planner, started a new investment firm after my old one was bought out by a huge bank, and welcomed my first son. We are now expecting our second as I find time to juggle this hectic thing called life.
My passions are personal finance and educating those on the basics of investing. This led me to becoming a financial planner and also creating my blog Good Financial Cents.
