After my husband and I dotcom crashed and burned in the earlier part of the decade and came up pregnant in the middle of it all, we decided to make some major life changes in living, spending, and the types of jobs we sought to work. Gone are our single, carefree days of city living but gone too are the worries of living completely paycheck to paycheck. We're down to one car, telecommuting, and have various creative financing and budgeting techniques. With two kids and a mortgage, imagination and steady financial goals are most important.
