Wise Bread is expanding our editorial department to accommodate the growth of the site. The site is run by a small, close knit team. We offer flexibility in hours and plenty of opportunity to expand your role based on your interests and strengths. This is a telecommuting position.

We are looking for an Editorial Assistant to help produce our daily articles.

Duties

  • Processing writer drafts (formatting and copyediting according to our style guide before passing to the editors for review).

  • Uploading final drafts into our CMS (Drupal).

  • Choosing appropriate images for each article.

  • Keeping track of our editorial calendar and scheduling articles accordingly.

  • Collecting stats through Google Analytics on article performance.

  • Helping the marketing team promote articles through social media.

Required Qualifications

  • Familiarity with a content management system (like Wordpress or Drupal) and experience with WYSIWYG editors.

  • Understanding of basic html. You should know tags like [a href] and know why open tags are bad.

  • Detail-oriented and ability to work from home with no direct supervision.

  • Proficient in Google Office Apps like Gmail, Calendar, and Docs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Passion for social media, especially Pinterest.

  • Familiarity with photo editing using Photoshop.

  • Internet junkie who knows the latest memes and trends before 99% of your friends.

To Apply

  • Email recruiting@wisebread.com with the subject heading: Full or Part Time Editorial Assistant.

  • If you have social media expertise please include links to social media channels.

  • If you have writing samples, especially those that are similar to Wise Bread's topics, please include links to them.

  • Describe any experience using Google analytics, and describe which metrics you believe to be the best indicators of an article's performance. Indicate your availability and number of hours per week you can work.
