In addition to articles written by Wise Bread’s experts, the Skype Hub also features tips and interviews from popular bloggers around the world, such as Maria Nedeva from The Money Principle, Kevin McKee from Thousandaire, Tom Drake from Canadian Finance Blog, and Nora Dunn from The Professional Hobo. The Skype Hub also features contributions from journalists and book authors such as Kate Lister, author of “Undress For Success — The Naked Truth About Making Money at Home” (Wiley 2009), the definitive source on how to create a home-based job.

“We’ve been big fan of Skype for years, and we’re thrilled to have Skype sponsor such a helpful section on Wise Bread,” said Greg Go, co-founder of Wise Bread. “And I don’t just use Skype for my business — my family uses Skype Credit to talk to relatives around the world. It is my favorite frugal way to stay in touch with people.”

The launch of the Skype Hub is also celebrated by two Tweetchat parties hosted by Ashley Jacobs, Wise Bread’s Social Media Editor. The Tweetchats received millions of impressions on Twitter and started a meaningful discussion on the best ways to stay in touch with friends and family without breaking the bank. Examples of the tweets include:

“@wisebread I can't wait to use Skype more often, a great business tool especially for our home business and my blogging” — Bridget Williams (@Mizvanilla) of Savings for Sanity.

“Learning so many new things! RT @wisebread: You can text via your computer or phone using @Skype's app!” — Carrie Smith (@carefulcents) of Careful Cents

“Our readers and social media fans are really excited about the Skype Hub,” said Jacobs. “When we asked our readers how they save money with Skype, they left us over a hundred comments!”
