For those who travel outside of the United States often, the foreign transaction fee for purchases is one of the most important fees to consider when choosing a credit card. Whether you are just starting out and building your credit, or repairing past credit problems, you can still save money with secured cards that, although rare, have no foreign transaction fees. Here is the best secured card to use for foreign transactions.
The Navy Federal Credit Union nRewards® Secured Card has no foreign transaction fees and no annual fee. This card awards one point for each dollar you spend with the card. A security deposit of at least $200 is required.
The SunTrust Secured Credit Card with Cash Rewards has no foreign transaction fees. It does have a $32 annual fee. You can earn 2% cash back on gas and grocery store purchases up to the first $6,000 spent per year, and 1% cash back on all other purchases. You can earn an unlimited amount of cash back in the 1% category and the 2% category resets each calendar year.
