The security line at the airport is the bane of every traveler’s existence. But there is one way to make it a little easier, faster, and comfortable -- sign up for TSA Pre-Check or Global Entry. TSA Pre-Check gives access to shorter lines and a much less invasive screening process. Global Entry allows members expedited entry to the United States when arriving from another country as well as inclusion in TSA Pre-Check.
Applying for Global Entry costs $100, which is a non-refundable application fee that you must pay, whether you are accepted or not. Alternatively, you can apply for the TSA's Pre-Check program by itself, which costs $85. With such a small price difference, it tends to make sense to apply for Global Entry. Thankfully, several credit cards offer a fee credit toward an application to these programs. (See also: How to Sign up for Global Entry)
