My favorite rubber band hack is to wrap a thick band several times around a plastic soda bottle cap to make it so much easier to open. I have carpal tunnel syndrome and my "twister" wrist is weak...this really helps!
Being with friends, going out for lunch or dinner, or a nightly walk with them. Playing videogames or watching series or movies. Smoking weed (in a completely law-abiding manner, in the privacy of my own home, don't mod me) or shisha with the same friends.
A mod to the earphone idea; Pop in earbuds and get a white noise app for you phone. You're not distracted by music but you can use the noise to filter out conversations around you.
I would add technology, like expensive cell phones, new cars, fit bits, etc! I know many people who spend a lot to have the newest phone available and they complain all the time about not having any extra money. They also have the newest vehicles that they lease because they can't afford to buy one, but they won't buy used ones that would be more within their budget. Their credit cards are maxed out, but they have to keep up with the Joneses. I feel so outdated because I drive old vehicles and my cell phone is an old flip-style Tracfone, but I refuse to buy things just to fit in and be like everyone else!
We went to Lowe's East Rutherford, NJ on 11/18/2016 to buy 3 appliances worth over $4000 and they did not honor to match their price with their competitors price for one of the item we wanted to buy (printed papers for the lower price offer) and the appliance department manager, I believe the name was Kevin, gave us every excuse not to match that price but he agreed to match other two appliances prices surprisingly. For the item that he didn't want to price match, first he said he can not match because they are not MAJOR competitor (the price given was a local appliance store and they also sell online), and then he said their price on the website is not discounted right away (because the discount was like see the price on the checkout type on their website), and after all his excuses proven wrong his final excuse was that as a store department manager he has power to deny any price and he used his privilege not to honor their price match guarantee. The reason he kept giving me was that price difference is too much according to him (difference was $350 for that item) They have offered us again to price match with the other two appliances (because their prices were not much different $150 for two items) we have refused and left Lowe's East Rutherford, NJ without any purchase because of their dishonest and unprofessional practice.
Our next stop was the Home Depot of Lodi. After we showed the same offers and printed papers to their store manager, they have matched all the prices right away any question asked. Their store manager was so professional and she processed our purchase quickly and explained everything in detail. We ended up adding also 3 years protection plan from them for all three appliances. Our total bill was $4200 and we saved approx $500.
So if you are planning to buy appliances or any home improvement items and need price match just go to Home Depot, don't even bother with Lowe's.
Just wanted to pip up and add that the entire "SASSIE" shopping system is legit. They have an app which displays a map of all the mystery shopping gigs from ALL companies in the "SASSIE" system (including intellishop and about 200 others) in your area. Where I live, there's never less than 200 shops available within 25 miles. (Granted, I live in a highly populated area, pop. 1 million+) but the huge number of companies ensures you'll find SOMETHING worth applying for.
I just had a captain obvious kind of revelation: Raw instant oatmeal. Those instant oatmeal packs have a lot of flavor in them that gets watered down when you make them. Just pour the packet straight into your mouth and it's like this awesome flavorful snack pack.
how do you unlock a VIDTEC MDVD 6688 ? I believe it already can convert pal to ntsc, but I can't watch any import DVDs until it is unlocked. will appreciate any help, thank you.
We save money on Thanksgiving by checking all the deals at our local stores. Also thanks to Aldi, we can buy a lot of the basics like potatoes for very cheap.
My favorite mutual fund over the last few years is called 'Fundsmith' (https://www.fundsmith.co.uk/fund-factsheet). I haven't used it for income, but that option is also available. It has returned almost 20% CAGR for the last 5 years!
The fund is also quite an interesting and unique one: you can invest directly with them (thus cutting out the middle man and a bunch of fees), it has a negative PTR, and has outperformed the market despite investing in what could be characterized as defensive stocks.
Just got a card from them with my name on it too. I've recently been a victim of identity theft and had to freeze my credit through the agencies so when I got this I was caught off guard. Maybe they got my info from our recent move, but I will be reporting it.
We keep meals simple and don't spend money on things like decorations.
Stock up where you can before the big day. If you invite people, have them bring something. Try to avoid doing things at the last minute.
I shop sales and use coupons

This is a list for 1 person. you would have to double it for a couple and so on :)
Is this worth it if it's free.. for $2,000 coverage? It's being offered by Navy Federal Credit Union. While free is nice, it can also get expensive.

Does Amazon notify you by email when they are offering free shipping or discounts? Do they come up at the same time? Thanks

by doing potluck with family
I buy my turkey on sale and then I make the sides myself. Homemade is cheaper and tastier.

Decluttering can bring positive changes in your life. But how to get rid of online clutter? Do you have any good suggestion?
I think that most everyone commenting here doesn't have an 800+ score. Or it's amazing that most of the 18 percent are reading this article
