To be fair, I was not at all a fan of digital books. Until the day I downloaded over 30 books for free from Amazon, nearly instantly. Books I wanted, some that I would definitely have taken a trip to the library for, and possibly even purchased at full price. After that, I was hooked!
Just wanting to share the love on that on. I've gotten some great books free in digital format. If you've got a computer, or access to one, it's a really nice perk.

I too like the thought about growing the account tax free as opposed to tax deferred. I suppose the real questions is do you think that the rules for the Roth will change in the future?
My husband and I recently moved in (temporarily, I hope) with my parents. We are having to live out of boxes and suitcases so with little room I had to think very carefully with what we NEEDED. There are things in storage that I wish I could get to and use because I WANT them but we are getting by just fine without the extras. Makes me wonder what we are going to do when we do have all of our loot back.
You forgot about dehydrating them!! I also had a huge tomato crop this year. It was my first year doing this. I spent HOURS cutting cherry tomatoes in half. I now have gallon bags filled with the yummy treasures. I just made homemade veggie pizza with regular sized slices and it was delicious.
Going paperless in my office would make productivity faster and reduce waste. It would be a win/win for everyone and not to mention keep chaos out of in my life and office!
In todays economy, many families are stretching their dollar. With the holidays approaching, I will be tapping into my creative side and instead of making store bought purchases, I will be making many handmade things to give as gifts. Spending less money, but giving more of myself - in a way that will be remembered both by myself, and the recipient, for years to come.
Start out by not spending more than you actually have in hand, the best advice you can follow. I know it is not always possible, but if you don't have the money set aside already, do you need to spend $$$ on things because you're told you "deserve" them? Not true at all.
While I agree with most of your advice, I have to take exception with the idea that cell phones are not needed. What is not needed is their more expensive and outdated cousin, the land line.
i guarantee you'll miss them midwinter when the only tomatoes available are the crappy grocery store ones that taste like nothing. stick'em in the freezer for later. they freeze well whole *and* in chunks.
if you lack freezer space, use a few for tomato powder. it's one of those spices that keeps forever and adds a punch of tomato flavor to soups and sauces.
hmm well coupons work. You can also be creative and make your own things, which take a little bit more time, but will save you money in the long run. Thanks so much!
Vegetable vendors are fairly common around here during the summer as we're close to farmland. (Think fresh picked sweet corn.) They just park their wheeled stands in a well trafficed places and wait for customers. A non profit near us sells home grown mums from a little cart in their parking lot to passerbys. You just put your money in a jar. I assume both are legit.
I could use this phone to put my endless lists and notes on! Less is more in my handbag, right! I wonder if I could put receipts in there as well... Oh! And you can use them for coupons now at the store! Could there finally be an end to the paper clutter?
My mother drives a Refrigerated Semi-truck for a living and I can tell you that often times if you happen upon a driver selling things from the back of a truck it usually went down like this. The driver pulls up to the Distribution Center (DC) and the dock workers (Lumpers) give the freight a once over and say all your freight is good or hey you have 2 pallets of product here with damaged packaging (all it takes is 1 damaged package for a whole unit to be rejected, keep in mind that it could be as little as 1 tv dinner with a torn box while there are 300+ tv dinners still on that pallet....) So it falls upon the company or driver to get rid of these items. They can throw them in a dumpster and take the loss (Trucking companies get paid by the unit/weight) or they can turn around and sell them to try and offset the cost. Companies like Walmart can and will deny the loads if the trailer is so much as 1-3 degrees warmer than they wish, even tho the food is still very safe to eat. The company once again gets charged with the task of paying for the load and getting rid of it. I have heard of one particular driver getting a full load of Campbell's soup rejected due to damage and he took the whole load and parked at a truck stop and proceeded to sell over half the trailer load at 3 dollars per case before local authorities stepped in and stopped him, but in that time he had completely paid for that load and made more than if he had just delivered that load and turned around and went home. Most people don't realize that the products that they buy are incredibly overpriced. So buying stuff off the back of the truck usually isn't an issue and is a win/win situation for everyone involved. There are some bad apples in there tho so please keep that in mind if the guy selling the product seems a little bit to shady
I do more with less at dinner time. I can cook for 5 people, with not many ingredients. Everyone is full. I also use alot of coupons. That saves me so much money every week. I can get $200 worth of groceries for about $125.
I could start with cleansing out my diet to just the basics: pasta, homemade sauce from onions, tomatoes, sweet cream, some nice eggs, milk, bread then cheese with turkey for lunches, and some yogurts. Sharing would also be a handy tip, especially with my new darling gf, merging netflix accounts, borrowing board games from family friends, and gathering around to celebrate pre-christmases and thanksgivings. But that's for starters.
I assure you credit card companies are NOT working with individuals.

Use coupons, shop sales and buy in bulk that helps a bit
We cut our home phone down to line only, no caller id, no voice mail, no call forward. This chopped our bill down to 21.95 from 65.00.

my friends and i exchange clothes so we can all get something "new" to wear. works especially well with purses :)
I do more with less by thinking about what I own, only owning things I need, and trying to be as simple and effective with the things that I own.
