We filed our taxes the instant our W2's all arrived in the mail. And there's no way on earth I want to try to file them myself, so I hire a professional to do them for me.
I've filed already and used a professional tax preparer to do so. A home purchase late last year - after many years of renting - significantly changed my tax situation too late in the year to make changes to withholding, so I'm getting a large refund. Have already received the federal; still waiting on the state (California!). Spending part of the refund to purchase a washing machine; rest is going into a savings account earmarked for future home repairs/upgrades.
Thank you for your comment. There are many of us who were abused, cheated on, left or otherwise were not party to the choice to get divorced. It takes courage for someone who has experinced something like this to trust and love again, and this alone is a reason to celebrate. Don't count the marriages, look at the couple individually.
Please keep in mind that celebrating does not equal money, and that each marriage should be celebrated. There are people whose first marriages didn't work because of a betrayal, should the fact that they had courage to get back out there and find someone new not be celebrated. A gift is never required, but enthusiasm in celebrating another's happiness is. Please don't look at it as "I already did this for you", because for that person, that second marriage may be the person they spend the rest of their lives with, and wouldn't you want to be a part of celebrating that?
I haven't filed yet. I usually file as early as possible, but this year has been too busy. I will be using TurboTax. I plan to put my refund in the bank.
Groupon is not to blame. It's a classic case of careless business owners not thinking things through and "biting of more than they can chew". (pun intended)
Business aren't forced to sign up for Groupon, they do it willingly.
Exactly! i tried to return a 42-in flatscreen TV to Wal-Mart after it exploded within 3 weeks, and the customer service employee said there was a problem with my receipt and ... Sorry. i could not take this as a final answer, so i calmly and politely (important!) asked to speak to a manager. there was a problem with my serial number from the receipt not matching the one on the TV, but they had to power to give me the refund in a gift card. I graciously accepted. There is always someone who can push your refund through, and they usually do not mind giving you a gift card to their store.
Not only have we filed. We've received our refund, spent $900 of it on bedroom furniture for our son and sent the rest to the credit card we are currently snowballing. Take that, debt!
We haven't filed yet, but almost finished! We used turbotax, but we have some tax experience, so we feel pretty comfortable. Will probably save most of our refund, but put a little towards some house projects.
Lists and computer reminders are the two most helpful techniques for me. I find that putting something up on the wall doesn't work -- even if I put it in a prominent place, it's easy for me to ignore it. If I do write a physical note, I have to put it somewhere like my keyboard or in the middle of my monitor -- a place where I have to go in and remove it in order to get things done.
Oooh, yeah -- I love vinegar. My favorite lunches lately have been bean or lentil salads spiked up with lots of vinegar. And hot sauce is great too! Especially chili garlic sauce.
Yes, just finished last night using Turbo Tax; will owe $700 to Fed and CA... never give them my money to use interest-free and never pay more than $1000 total each year. :)

Nope. I don't file since I live on disability payments.

Not exactly:)
No - I would get champagne
We filed about two weeks ago, and we just got our refund deposited.
I've done my federal taxes already, but I haven't yet completed my state taxes.

Filed the end of February. Didn't get a large refund (which is good!) but put it towards some savings goals.

Of course not... that's my spring break activity. What I'm gonna do when I work outside academia, I'll never know...
Yes, I file them as soon as all the documents arrive in the mail. We will save half and use the other half towards a family vacation.
I already "Like" you on Facebook.
I haven't filed my taxes yet, but when I do, I'll use TaxAct Online as I have the past few years. And when I get my refund, I'll use it to pay bills.

Yes, my fiancee and I have both filed. I even received my State and Federal tax refunds this week.
