Most people are better off staying with their bad mileage vehicle. This is because they haven’t done the math. Take the difference between the cost of the current vehicle and the new vehicle. Then take the difference of what you are/would be paying in gas for the vehicles. Many people would have to keep their new vehicle over 12 years before it would pay for “just” the difference in gas. Then think about upkeep costs on the new vehicle, and go price the batteries. This game is all about $.
I know someone else commented on bottle prep, but what saves me time (and many other homebrewers) is using the dishwasher to sanitize bottles. Just put your bottles into the dishwasher run them at high heat with heated dry. Spay a little sanitizer in the bottle before you fill and your done. The whole bottling process usually takes me about an hour including cleanup.
One other valuable tip is to work over the dishwasher door. This eliminates most of the cleanup.
Completely agree. I live in a neighborhood where we all know eachother, we share tools, we look out for eachother's kids. I've even lent money to neighbors so they could pay bills and buy groceries during hard times - they always paid it back, or helped me out in other ways in return. I check in on my elderly neighbors, call them before I head to the grocery store, etc. Lots of people in my neighborhood do exactly the same - when I was down due to surgery, people walked my dogs, mowed my yard, etc. It's called `community', and it starts on your own street and with your own family. I wouldn't ever co-sign a loan, but there's certainly a lot of other things one can do!
Incidently, a local magazine recently did a neighborhood survey. My neighborhood ranked `The Happiest Neighborhood' in the entire city. No small wonder!
Email is not proof of anything. A statement stands in cort, where I see emails fall short. I will not go paperless as long as possible until "most" of American laws change. Possession is 9/10'ths of the law, and this applies to everything including "phisical" records and email, they are NOT the same. Likewise, a printed receipt from email is not as good as the invoice. This is because people "fake" the email, and bring it into the stores.
Right on! MentalWardN you are so right dude...man, where do you get yer insight from. You are an absolute genuine dude... You are probably the smartest most down-to-earth person with real common sense. I admire your candor...scre'em, ha, ha, ha, yer right screw 'em
There is one sure-fire way to spot a counterfeit bill. If you happen to run across any bill no matter what the denomination is and where the prez portrait goes is a picture of a jack-ass, well then it's probably fake. Cause only a jack-ass would be reluctant to check a bill in front of someone for fear of offending that particular person(s). If ever I was handed a bill by someone and there was something about the bill or the person for that matter, I dont care who get's offended...Im checking that bill then and there. I'll break out the magnifying glass, lights, bells, whistles...whatever i feel needs to be done to be assured Im not getting swindled I will do....If you feel offended....Oh well. most people who get offended dont have the ballz to say anything anyhow so screw 'em...
I think we are going to see more and more teens starting business especially in technology. Being a in your teens may be the best time to start a business. The risk level is a lot less. If it fails you still live at home and have your whole ahead of you.
Thanks for you direction on the broch flowers. I am presently attempting this venture. However, I have been able to locate the flowers already made with pin and an attachment for the wrist. The cost is minimal. In fact it is cheaper to purchase the flower already made than to make it. I plan to embolish the flower and sale with a very large margin of profit
I have a 1997 Acura CL 3.0 that I bought used. I have never owned a new car and I will never own a hybrid. Neither are worth the money in depreciation. A hybrid is more of a statement than a practical and frugal choice.
I'm going to run this car into the ground and with just 78,000 miles on it, it will take a while.
Your IRAs and similar accounts that send reports to the IRS track your marital status because it affects your contribution limits. And a marriage is entered into the public records, so the IRS can readily search this info. Believe me, they have a stake in knowing whether you are civilly married or not. This isn't something you want to fudge. As you say, it's fraud.
Believe me, we aren't making money off our kids. We pay far more for our children's care than we get back in taxes (or in "free" services such as schools). The child tax credit simply takes into account that we have fixed expenses related to the care of another human being who is not yet self-supporting. You can also claim as a dependent your ill or disabled spouse, for instance.
Making children grow up in poverty is not an effective means of populations control. On the contrary, countries where children grow up in poverty have higher birth rates than affluent countries.
I've never done beer, but this year and last made dandelion wine. I used an old fashioned family recipe off the internet and rather unprofessional equipment. Two gallon pickle jars sterized with bleach and hot water, rinsed, air dried. Regular baker's yeast, cane sugar, an orange and a lemon, a pound of raisons, besides the water and dandelion flowers. Some fish tank tubing (also washed out with beach water and rinsed to siphon it out into a bunch of oddball bottles. It still turned out well. It is fun and makes great gifts.
Ahh, home brewing. A topic close to my heart. I've been brewing my own for a while now and it's great. Like you said, it can be done cheaply, but it's an addicting hobby that has plenty of potential to become costly. I should know. After making a number of batches with my very basic setup I've gone on to spend probably $2,000 on gear, kegging, and anything else you can think of. Not frugal by any means, but I've moved on from brewing for the sake of saving money to brewing because it's fun and I love creating an awesome product while challenging myself to always create something better.
Educating yourself to be able to buy a good used car is a bit of effort with very high return. You can do quite a bit to minimize the risk: run a CarMax title search on it by VIN, bring up the Kelly Blue Book value (online), search Craigslist to see what similar cars are selling for, request that the owners provide you with the service records, have a mechanic do a check-up.
On the flip side, if you're selling, having a neat binder with your maintenance records in chronological order will do a lot to engender trust and make sure you get the full Blue Book value. So plan ahead!

Many faith communities coordinate these types of mutual support and aid. I know that our synagogue does. In addition to charitable gifts, Jewish communities often have a free-loan society that gives interest-free monetary loans within the communities, and a group that coordinates the loan of such items as baby gear and bridal gowns. That's in addition to all the ladies bringing meals to new moms and people visiting the sick. Once you've spent a bit of time on the receiving end, you'll realize the importance.
Oh, forgot to mention.... DO NOT USE SOAP WHEN USING THE DISHWASHER METHOD. This will kill the head on your beer.
Seriously? Why do women always have to jump in?
