The MealBoard app is great because:
I can import and store recipes from my favorite popular sites. Everything in one place!
There is a cloud sync feature, so my hubby downloaded the app as well, and he has access to the meal plan each week and he can start cooking before I get home.
Very user friendly! I can easily move recipes around on the weekly plan, search for recipes I've saved by ingredient/category/keyword.
There's an alert feature your can set for recipes which need to be started several hours before dinner.
Now I am trying to think about how to get more detergent bottles, because I need to replace my watering can, and I could use a scoop, and a place to keep bird seed, and there is some painting coming up...
We buy a lot of vouchers! We started using them (from Groupon, Living Social, Restaurant.com) when we first started dating, and now after 5 years of being married it feels crazy to pay full price! With the vouchers, and being careful with what we order, we can go out to a nice dinner once a month or so for about $35. We also give them as gifts (I am subscribed in both our families' cities as well as our own) and use them when we travel.
We usually use them for thing we do or would like to do anyway, and it saves us a ton of money. I just have to be careful to only buy ones we will use, and not to buy too many at once! I keep a list in my coupon book so we keep track of the expiration dates and use them before they expire. We have had a few duds over the years, but overall they have saved us a ton of money and introduced us to some really great businesses! :)
If you've never been to a Native American pow wow, especially in Canada, you need to go! Hit the food booths and get a scone dog! Hot dog wrapped in fry bread dough and deep fried. Absolute heaven!

Thanks Kostas. Yes, the payoff should be thousands of dollars saved!

A very interesting idea regarding paychecks! It would take plenty of discipline to work, but there you go, the payoff should be more than worth it.
