I do simpler versions of batch cooking. For instance, I will cook 4 chicken breasts with the intention of using the meat in 3-4 different ways/meals over the course of the week. It is very smart to think ahead like this. I feel as if I have given my future self the gift of time and less stress!
I do some batch cooking every week, but not as much as I would like to do. I have really been interested in the freezer cooking and planning out meals for the month.
I haven't opened an IRA up for my 6 year old yet, but I have been considering it. The advantages are just to good to overlook. I also want to incorporate her into the decision making so we will include this in future money lessons when I feel it's appropriate. All that's left do is figure out what those job duties of her's will be:)
Two ways you can use Cosco without buying a membership are
1. Go with a friend that has a membership. They pay for everything and you pay them back. I did this this week and had no problem with getting in and shopping.
2. To be able to shop alone, get a friend to buy you a Cosco gift card, then show it instead of your membership card. Just make sure that you have enough money on it to cover what you are shopping for. Not sure if you can pay the difference with cash. I haven't tried this out yet, but I had heard it from a reliable couponing blog.
Wonder as owned by IBC is no longer. In fact it's other brands like nissen, drakes, hostess, home pride, beefsteak and other less popular brands have been pieced off and sold like an overdue storage locker.
The whole bread industry suffered a major shakeup a few years ago which left it with only three main national players. Bimbo baking, Flowers bakery and pepperidge farm. Depending on your area of the country one will dominate more than the other but they will occupy 90 percent of the bread isle. Each has its own color code. Depending on the distributor you may not even see all the colors no matter what day you shop. Most of these guys use independent distributors (small single owner businesses) to deliver and stock the bread. They may not deliver 5 days per week (depending on the store volume). The bakery may not bake your bread 5 days per week ether. There are other factors too which I will not go into that play a role also.
Bottom line..
If you want fresh bread, come Saturday morning, Monday morning or Thursday morning and in that order.
Saturday, bread guys stock up for the weekend. On average 35 - 40 percent of all week sales occur on those days. You have almost guaranteed chance of getting the bread you want and if you look close you will not have to dig to get the one that came that day.
Monday they clean up after the weekend and restock for the start of the week. Also a good day to get what you want.
Thursday is restock after a day off. Same as Monday just much less product. Wednesday is the slowest day of the week and also the worst day to find what you need. Most out of stocks occur on Wednesday and Sunday afternoon. Good luck getting what you like unless it's a basic/popular white or wheat.
Forget the color. Look at the date and don't hover over the bread guy while he's trying to put up your bread. (We really hate that!)
Bread Baron.(one of the big three, and no I'm not telling you all the tricks. We hate stale and old bread needs people too!)
I don't do "batch cooking", but when cooking a dish using a normal recipe, I usually end up with leftovers for me and my boyfriend for another meal or two.
Wealthy people are PEOPLE. They like to show off as much as the next person. They enjoy the quality of an expensive dining experience, they like exclusivity, and they enjoy quality cars. In fact they tend to be picky, if not outright OCD. Have you actually MET them? They are just like anyone else, except with a somewhat bigger budget. They are not all alike either. One might love Ferraris, but wear the same jeans once they get home for twenty years. Another one might drive a Beamer, but wear expensive clothing, and too much after shave. The types that like to wear the expensive watches and junk usually do it to attract ladies, not impress the guy sitting next to them, though. Not all wealthy people are old money beacons of restrained good taste. In fact, most are not.
Most doctors will not see you unless you pay for services first. So this is a stupid plan with a stupid deductible that most people can't afford and they wind up having health insurance, but going without healthcare anyway.
How can it be click bait, when it explicitly TELLS you that it is about LOOKING rich? Can you not comprehend the written word? What did you hope the article was about?
Exactly why I'm working! I work cleaning houses so that we can go on amazing family vacations. We saved for 3 years to take an almost 3 week trip to London/Paris/Disneyland Paris last fall. Worth every penny for the experiences we had that we could never get any other way. Next up? A trip to Puerto Rico and bioluminescent kayaking and a Disney cruise home! And then a trip to see California and things my family has always wanted to see out there. "Dreams won't work unless you do!"
I agree with this concept totally, with one notable exception that these articles never seem to mention. I have a very poor memory, I forget things within a year or two after they happen. So for me (and people with that issue) it's helpful to BUY one item (even a small one) that reminds you of the event (so I remember to remember and say 'Oh yeah! I did that!'
I don't batch cook as I live alone (my batches usually come in a cereal box) ;) But my girlfriend does batch cooking. She has to eat both lunch AND dinner at work (long shift) and has about 100 food allergies. So by batch cooking she has portion control and allergy control plus lots of convenience and savings!
I don't currently have freezer space as my landlord uses it all, otherwise I have been a huge fan of cooking in larger quantities to save money!
I don't but my wife will make rice and then freeze individual portions so we always have it.
a waste of time it made my yard turn brown and more weeds

Can you get loans, and then at the end of the education use the IRA to pull out funds and repay the loans immediately?

I don't do batch cooking but I do usually double the recipe so that I can have leftovers the next day.
I don't do batch cooking but have often thought of starting.
No I don't because it's just me and my roommate

No, but we should.
The new debit card with a chip only allows debit. It no longer allows the choice!
