Didn't work for me. Tried it on 1.25 readers, samsung cell phone screen, and had really hoped it would work on my maui sunglasses - nope. Did take the finish off my kitchen sink spout, though...so be careful out there!
This technique was first presented by Reynolds wrap in the '60s. It was quite an advertisement campaign back then. Nice to see it has come back into vogue.
We don't have cell phones, and have only local dialing on our land-line (no caller ID, voicemail, etc.). We make long distance calls using a calling card, which is cheaper per minute than what's available through the land-line.
I do more with less by shopping wisely. I stock up on after Christmas sales for the next year. I am able to get some fantastic deals! I have Christmas cards and wrapping paper enough to last for several years that I bought for pennies on the dollar. I also start looking for gifts right after Christmas for the following year.
I was hoping for more on options for cloud computing, how secure is it, how accessible and how controllable is granting access to different groups? This article leaves out a lot of information
Thank you for your story. I also received an unsolicited card from netSpend this week in the mail. While I know very little about the company, and even though it is a prepaid card that requires money to be pre-loaded, this is very concerning that they would send the in the mail without any clear reason for why it was sent. In my opinion, this is a dangerous practice that can lure unsuspecting individuals. In response I have called the company that I have identify theft services with and requested that they make sure I am removed from pre-paid and pre-approved credit card offers. I also have shredded the card and offer.
I hope you do get to try it again. If you are getting started in fitness in general, it's helpful to learn about what certain heart-rate levels feel like. If you are working out in a gym, then many of the pieces of cardio equipment will give you heart-rate readouts (you could also buy a heart-rate monitor but that may be an unnecessary expense).
What I did is look at my heart rate is when I got started (perhaps 90 bpm) and when I started to feel tired (which may be 120) and when I was really pushing it (which may be 160 or more); and noticed how I felt at those points. So when I was in cycle class and started to feel at my peak, then I could settle down and stay at that level. You can find what gives you a good workout being exhausted for the rest of the day.
I can't stress enough how important it is to declutter. Less stuff equals peace of mind, less time dusting, it's good for your health, and on and on. Get rid of your junk, people!
Yes, It's good to start investing as early as possible to come out of rat race. I like your advice "learn how to do, make, grow, and find things for yourself". This helps to overcome economic downturn and provide security for lifetime :)
You must be earning a certain salary to qualify for the $450 a week benefit in CA. With that say, that is about average $25 an hour. At this pay rate or salary you must have earned a college degree or have years of experience. Because the max is at $450 a week which equates to $12, its like saying you just got downgraded by half for no fault of yours even if you had paid your dues by finishing college and working your way from entry level jobs to a decent average $25 an hour job. I think it takes hard work to get some people to earn that much in CA because its an employer market for many years.
Personally, I earned my BS degree in Finance 5 years ago and was lucky enough to find a good paying job after college. I worked my way up from entry level to where I was a few months ago. My company decided to outsource my job to India. I hate being on unemployment because I have bills and parents to take care of. I've been desperately looking for a decent job and I can't afford taking $450 paycheck a week compared to what I was making before. Also, not only is this financially hard to deal with, its emotional and mentally tiring to try so hard but yet you get no calls back.
You might think you know it all by asking your friends (probably in your age group which are mostly singles, living with parents, no kids, no medical issues) but you don't know until you walk in their shoes. I suggest you read your own comments before posting them.
Unemployment benefits funds are pulled from people who have worked and paid income taxes therefore if someone needs to use it to help them through tough times then let it be...its not your money that you have invested in them...its their own hard earned taxed money!
Hmm doing more with less. Well, I've been going to the drive in theatres with my friends and family instead of the regular theatres. It's cheaper, easier to talk and a little more adventurous1
Living in a (sometimes small) studio apartment -- having Less furniture taking up physical space, allows me to do More with the space I Do have. I am able to turn the space into an office, a personal gym, a sleeping area, a lounge, a meditation room, a home theater, a dining room, a living room, a break room, a sit around and just read Wise Bread all day room - or a get away from it all room.
I refuse to turn on the heat until after Thanksgiving.
That way, I earn a healthy respect for each degree I turn the heat up afterwards. I save money beforehand because the heat is not turned on, and I s ave money afterwards because I don't need the heat turned very high to be comfortable!
It's really surprising how much you can use one piece of technology for so many different things. My Xbox has saved me from buying an HDMI cable, a DVD player, an internet TV set, and so many other things I would have spent so much on!
We buy all our dishes used from the thrift store and though they are mismatched, we look for colors and patterns that we genuinely like. On the occasion that something breaks, we can easily go out and find another piece for about 50 cents.
I'm doing more with less in the kitchen these days. I am stocking up on pantry staples and making things from scratch more often (muffins, pancakes, cornbread) instead of from a prepackaged mix. It's so much cheaper!
We have 3 boys share a bedroom, utilizing a bunk bed plus an additional single bed. two of the boys usually share the bottom bunk bed, and leave the top one empty. add in 2 dogs every night, and that bedroom gets full, but we manage.
Keep it away from your sink fixtures!

I have found that doing more with less is a challenge but one that can be fun. For me, it has to do with becoming more organized.

I dilute dishwashing detergent, laundry detergent, shampoos, conditioners. One bottle ends up lasting months and months.

cardboard, plain ol cardboard has always helped me. fold them into boxes, use as a make shift table, line areas for crafts. always works for me :)

okay, I'm confused. Is cloud computing some kind of program, or just a method of putting stuff online? This post seems unfinished...

I'm thinking of doing a joint account but it makes sense to also keep a separate savings building on your own life lessons in finance as well.

We clean out the house several times a year. We donate to different chaities and I give all the toys I win every year to Toy's for Tots.
Thank You!!
