I'm trying to get rid of all my variety of cleaners and just narrow it down to various mixtures of vinegar, water, and baking soda. You really can do more with less!
Stop buying new clothes and take the time to "shop your closet." Figure out new ways to style the clothes you already own. Bonus: it's now winter so get creative and layer!
Thanks Ryan. I try to use a service for a while before writing about it, and I think Apperang improved a lot since I first signed in. My husband is waiting for the app to come out and he said he would get it once that happens. Meanwhile he also downloaded the apps I tried without even getting paid for that activity because they looked fun when I tried them out. I think this service really adds a lot of value for users and the developers.
My neighbor sells meat out of a truck. He has a nice truck, with a refrigerated container in the bed of his truck. It looks legit, with lettering advertising frozen meat on the side. He even has his own website: "Meatman" he calls himself. This is all well and good, but what bothers me is that he has numerous consumer-grade chest freezers in his garage. He stores his meat in the freezers. I don't know about you, but I don't want to buy meat from someone's garage freezer! Over the years, we have had several long power outages, but I've never seen him throw anything away. Go figure. He's a weird guy anyway--steals other neighbors' landscape rocks, and has the maturity of a 10 year old. He's not my "Meatman." Don't let him be yours.
This is my last year in Grad school. My single parent family has pared down to the basics. We take advantage of our local library for fun, but free, kids programs. I check out their magazines & movies for me & my youngster. With things tight this holiday season, I've garnered several free photo book codes & free shipping codes. I plan to gift these to family members & friends for Christmas. They make very personal & wonderful gifts..all for just a bit of my time & effort scouring the net for coupon codes. I've also won several blog giveaways to gift to others...a flip camera, movies, books, & toys to share with others when we live on a shoe string budget. I find ways to more with less...it's a way of life.
You need to check your facts. Last month Congress passed a law that no longer allows debt settlement companies to charge up front fees. Now they can only charge you after they have negotiated the settlement and you've agreed.
You are right that many of these firms are questionable but factual errors like this call your entire site content into question for educated readers.
I cut the cable cord. NO TV FOR ME. Now I get MORE things done in LESS time. I love it. Why did I wait so long?
I QUIT COOKING. I changed my diet to raw vegan. Now I get more nutrients, health, pleasure from my food and spend less energy, time, money and clean up. It's so simple.
I'm an Employee Benefits Consultant and much of my work tends to be with companies offering dental plans rather than individuals buying coverage but under the circumstances you outlined, paying $10 for $500 in potential benefits seems like a good trade off to me.
The only thing I would add (in addition to the other comments about provider networks) is that some individual plans have waiting periods for services that you may not find with more traditional employer based plans. A typical waiting period might be no wait for preventive services like cleanings, but six months on basic services like a filling or twelve months for a major service like a crown or bridge. These are to prevent people from waiting until they need $500 worth of dental work, signing up for a plan and then dropping it after they've had the work done.
We do more with less by renting movies from the library for free, hosting craft/game nights-also free, cooking meals together and coming up with creative recipes that can easily convert left-overs to something new (gravy for mashed potatoes turns into beef stroganoff sauce with some added mushrooms and sour cream), joining mailing lists to take advantage of deals, and sharing our tips and tricks with others who share theirs with us!
I use these tips. I set aside $5 per week during the year, and both husband and I save our change. At the end of the year, I don't have to worry about how I'll be able to afford to buy x-mas gifts.
I have looked into all kinds of Dental insurance, since I retired 8 years ago. I like my Dentist, and some of the plans, want me to use another Dentist. If I use my Dentist, the cost would be astronomical, and they have a limit! They would all cost me more, than they are worth! Dental insurance is a fraud! Except, if you are working, and the plan is nominal.
Before I buy just about anything I check the internet for coupons, free shipping offers, or simply research what brick and mortar stores may have the best deals on said item. A little work before making the purchase can really pay off with big savings!
Good question! After all, if you come off as obnoxious, people are less willing to help, making it even more difficult to learn the ins and outs of your new job. I found it was helpful to start a discussion when my boss wasn't distracted by other things, and then to ask follow-on questions based on his answers. Then when we were done with our discussion, I had the answers to questions I hadn't even thought of yet! When I came across a problem that involved that topic (which I inevitably did), I usually didn't need to ask twice. I also found it really helpful to write down everything possible, so I could refer back to my "cheat sheet" later. Lastly, if you're in a meeting, I wouldn't suggest asking a question as the boss is trying to wrap up. Instead, I would wait until after other attendees have left and ask privately, or wait until another opportune time. Hope that helps!
I decided to simplify my life by doing more with less. I work in an office so I have to dress professionally. Most of the articles of clothing I use are black, this way no one can really tell if I am wearing something over again. Plus, black clothes don't get dirty as much so it cuts down on laundry. When I see that my clothes are starting to look a little faded, I just redye them black. Simple and cheap.
I walk more and use the car less. Usually, I walk my boys to school, to their friends' houses and to nearby stores (when I don't need to buy a lot of stuff). It saves gas, maintenance on the car and gives us a chance to "slow down" and see our neighborhood in a different way. Also, it's a great form of exercise!
Xin Lu, Thanks for writing about us and we're glad you came back and checked us out again. We're constantly growing and improving the service and sure appreciate when we get feedback from our friends like you!
The simplest way I can do more with less is to clean out my garage. I can't even see the concrete, so there must be loads of stuff I could sell or donate to simplify my life and feel better about myself.

We own only one car, but chose to live in an area with many walkable destinations and resources!

the water you use to wash your fruits and veggies - use that to water your plants. It's clean, and you save on your water bill
The less I have, the more time I have to do nothing. I enjoy doing nothing.

I do more with less by trying to conserve water and power.

I'm all about ditching my stone-age phone for a revolutionary phone. and i'm sure i'll be able to do more with less time on it.

I pack my children's school lunches. With a good thermos, they can even have their favorite hot foods from home while at school.
