I used RetailMeNot to find Godaddy coupons when renewing my domain names. I was surprised they had coupons for that! Goes to show, it never hurts to take a minute to check.

I have been using RetailMeNot for a while now and I LOVE it! I use it to find coupon codes that I would have no idea about and have saved probably hundreds of dollars just by using this site!

I too strongly recommend it and have it as a link on my blog (very few sites get that "honor.").

I love the firefox extension for retailmenot. I try to remember to go look for coupon codes before I go to buy something online but frequently forget. I bought some things at Eddie Bauer during the holidays, they already had free shipping but found a 15% coupon I could use on top of that. The pants were already buy one get on half price.

Thanks for sharing these. I blog about cooking at least once a week, and since I focus only on simple things, I think I'll link to your recipes here. They all sound great!

Found this on the wiki chipotle page:
February 29. Occurs only on leap years. Buy a burrito on this day, and at the bottom of your receipt was a certificate for a free burrito. Not valid in 2008.

    Bummer.

  • Passport Pictures for Under a Dollar   18 years 16 weeks ago

I worked at Walgreens for several years in the photo department. We had transparencies of the passport picture guidelines that are put out by the government. I would imagine anyone could get those guidelines, and it wouldn't be too expensive to make a transparency - it helps you to measure and cut the picture correctly. The government handout would be very helpful, as they tell you exactly what quality of picture is expected! Also, we never stamped on the back of the photos, so I don't think that's necessary.

  • Is Six Figures Really That Much?   18 years 16 weeks ago

I am not sure of the ages of all the posters, as that will change the perception of the individual post.
When I was growing up in the 70's and 80's, 100k+ a year meant that you didn't have to make sacrifices in your budget. It meant that you could afford pretty much what you wanted when you wanted it. Rich, in the upper crust.
Now, in 2008 in the D.C. area, you need a combined family income of 280k+ to be considered "affluent middle-class", not quite the upper crust but close enough to use it as a comparison.
I, personally, make a little more than 100k. Life isn't hard, but it isn't a piece of cake either. In order to own a home, you need to be able to afford a minimum of 700k+ (and this is with the current housing slump in mind) in this area. Since I am fortunate to have a salary like this and I am the single source of income (my wife is a full time voluteer and student), I cannot qualify to own a home because of the single source of income. Not for a traditional loan anyways.
Can I make it on this salary? Yes, absolutely. Do I feel blessed to have this kind of a salary? Of course. Does this kind of salary buy you the kind of freedom that it did in the 80's? No, no where near close.

I think that the idea of 100k in the 80's would require 400~500k today to even begin to compare.

    Cheers.

I also found out that should you need a hard money broker in WA state, DONT USE Marty Sweeten or his company Hard Money Placement, llc.

Marty Sweeten will take your personal information then never get back to you. He lies and curses on the phines when caught. Sweeten, Marty. Sweet Marty

Sarah beat me to the punch on linking to the website, but I posted on this topic in August 2007:

    Friday Freebie: Passport Photos

My page also links to various requirements for EU vs. US sizing and includes information about biometric facial expressions, etc. which your readers might find useful.

  • Bush's economic stimulus package; What will you get back?   18 years 16 weeks ago

The ironic part about this stimulus package is that those that are claimed as dependents do not receive a dime. However, it is the younger teenagers 17 to early twenties that probably WOULD spend the money frivolously thus throwing the money back into the economy while a lot of the older generation (my parents) have talked about saving the money for future needs. It just seems to me that the requirements for this rebate should be tweaked and given to the people that actually would go out and spend this money on anything and everything. a 18 year old who makes over 3K that just had a lump sum of money thrown into his or her hands most likely is going to spend that money.
