I feel spendthrifty because so far my boyfriend and I have spent about $400 this year on clothes (and they were mostly his).
OK, I can understand special uniforms and nice suits for work and kids outgrowing things faster than you can blink, but that still works out to $1000/person, and that...*mind boggle*
I'm going to miss the summer--clothes dried in the sun are so nice.
I work on occasions in East Timor in a place where mobile phone reception is very poor to non-existent. We have a directional antenna on a pole with a wire running down to the inside. On the end of that is a twisted loop of wire which simply re-radiates the signal without needing to plug into a jack. You simply hold your phone in close proximity to the end loop when using your phone. Ideal for a fixed installation that can be used by anyone with any phone.
Having a pet isn't just something to sit on your lap at night, it requires some time to do stuff. For example I just got a himalayan cat. Common hygiene tasks include brushing their hair on a daily basis to avoid natting. Also because of their squished face you have to wipe their eyes all the time. These I looked up before hand so I knew what I was getting myself into. A little thing that is also common with kittens is some of the crap (litterally) sticks to the hair on their butt and you have to cut off the hair around there. Oddly this all would seem like work before I had him but really none of it bothers me. He's gotten older and now don't have to worry about seeing surprises on hair by his butt. Also he's used to me wiping his eyes so he's fine with that. Emptying litter box twice a day doesn't bother me as I just worked it into my schedule. But people should understand you are caring for a living thing that depends on you for everything and in the case of dogs and cats can live for a while.
Vinegar is such a great multipurpose liquid. My kid had a mild fungal infection on her legs and after apply vinegar to the infected spots it healed completely. I also use vinegar to disinfect and remove pee stains in my hamsters cages.
Tip #4 is new to me! Also, separate dark colored clothes from the light colored ones when washing using the washing machine as some dark colored clothes can run and ruin the light colored clothes.
Great tip and btw, I like your work a lot. I never knew this information. Remember Internet travelers, Airport Hotspots are a breeding ground for malware and shoulder surfers and spoofing sites.
Its July 30, 2009 at 9:24 pm, I used Ortho Dial-N-Spray hose-end sprayer set at 3 oz to spray my St. Augustine lawn with the following mixture: a 16 oz Milwaukee's Best Ice beer, a 12 oz Coke, 1/2 cup of ammonia, 1/2 cup of Scope Original Mint mouthwash and a 1/2 cup of Dawn Ultra Concentrated Original Scent dishwashing liquid. After I sprayed my lawn with the mixture, I watered my lawn for 30 minutes. It rained earlier this afternoon here in Jacksonville, FL with an average temp of mid 70s to high 80s. I hope I covered all bases and provided everybody useful information. I'll be back for further updates.
I already follow most of these tips, but I sometimes forget about zipping up the zippers. Thanks for the reminder! I have a couple of skirts that fasten with velcro, and I fasten the velcro before washing, otherwise it snags on sweaters. Also, turning new jeans inside out will keep them darker, longer.
Bagrat, as Julie pointed out, the listed calories on Ruby Tuesday's site is per serving, but the entire appetizer plate is over 1000 calories. It assumes that the plate will be eaten by 4 people.
As others have pointed out, people don't have to eat the entire plate of food. But some do, and the calories listed here is in fact for the entire plate.
Listed calories for serving sizes are always tricky. I've seen the serving size listed on a box of ice cream as "1/4 cup." We might look at the calorie count without paying attention to how much of a portion that really is. In this case, Ruby Tuesday chose to split a plate into four servings and list a per serving calorie count rather than by plate. There's nothing wrong with that. It's just that most people won't pay attention and think the entire plate is only 350 calories.
Shareholders should definitely have more say considering they are essentially the owners of the company. I know the CEO usually owns a large percentage of the stock in a company but allowing him to vote one his own salary is kind of a conflict of interest if you ask me and that goes for the board members as well.
The last comment about CEO's working harder than the average worker is bull. I don't care if they work harder than the average worker not a single one of them works 300 times harder. That would be impossible. I'll agree that they are much more crucial and important to a company but it still doesn't justify the salaries they are raking in.
If you share the appetizer with 3 other people, then the calories, fat, etc. is the lesser amount -- the listing on the menu mentions that the counts are a per person serving with 4 total portions per appetizer. So, it seemts that the 4-way sampler at 354 calories is actually 1416 calories if you eat the entire thing.
A couple of years ago, when I was having my kitchen remodeled, I ate out a bunch and tried to eat "healthy" -- I found out that chain restaurants either add fat or salt to flavor. So, while I avoided fat, my blood pressure went up 20-30 points in just a couple of weeks on this diet. It's not that I never eat at such places, but you do have to watch what you're eating and limit such meals out. I scrutinize the menus even more now.

They said Ruby Tuesday's appetizers hover at around 1,000 calories each???? BS. I eat there all the time and my cousin is a GM there. I talked to him and he said it was total BS. Just look for your self on http://www.rubytuesday.com/files/allergen.pdf
You can clearly see thir biggest appetizer is at 354 calories. Where did these people get the 1000 from???? This is why I don't trust anything posted on the net. People just make things up for some odd reason. Do reaserch yourself people...
This card has nothing to do with your credit. How hard is it to realize that? They don't check your credit and since you can't be late with any payments it doesn't effect your credit score. You can not use this card without putting any money on it. Also no matter if they do send it and someone else happens to receive it, they will get a rude awakening because they will be asked to send in proper ID before the card can be used.
All you have to do it go to their homepage and READ. It's pretty simple to understand. Want a low cost solution to pay bills/shop online, pay bills or even just not spend what you don't have. (the reason this country is so far into debt) then this is the solution.
Our family has been part of the netspend family for years. We get our tax refunds online, direct deposit our paychecks, pay bills online and off. We've never had an iota of a problem.
Customer service can be shaky but where isn't it these days. AT&T had barely speaking english reps answering their phones should I call them scammers? They also hassle me for different services every time I call. Should I blow that off just because they were doing it over the phone? Should I be reporting them to the feds? Nope because they didn't do anything wrong. It's not a legal card until you activate it and you can't activate it without proper ID and Proper funds.
I may be poor but I am not stupid. While everyone else is paying the bank checking fees and credit cards are charging everyone interest and bloated rates, mine never change and I only spend what I put into it. I can't go into debt because it's my choice not to.
To the woman with the daughter in the hospital. I'm sorry your daughter is in the hospital but this isn't the place. Take it to them and solve it. They charge .50 per balance request. (which is cheaper than inquiring at the local atm. They do not charge for customer service.

I live in Faibanks, AK and have gone panning for gold a few times. It's not easy and is very hard work. You have shovel massive piles of dirt for just a few flakes of gold. First you sift the dirt into a bucket to get out the rocks. Then you run it through a sluice box, then a smaller sluice box, and finally you pan it. You are talking about an entire days worth of labor (for 2 or more people) before you really pan - maybe for 10 flakes. Guys who do it every weekend may end up with a small vial at the end of a season. Plus there is the cost of gas. There's a good spot about 80 miles north of town, but you need a truck to get back to the area. So with gas at 3$/gallon up here and we'll figure my truck gets 15 mpg; then 35$ in gas round trip (80 mi is on highway, some is dirt so less fuel efficiency plus the two tracks and tundra after you leave the highway will probably easily eat 1 gal of gas). So unless you can get at least 40$ in gold each trip you won't even cover the fuel. However, if you can find a nugget, those go for about twice the price of gold because they are rare (so 1800$/troy ounce if gold is 900$/troy ounce).
I do think this information needs to be posted on the menu. IKEA here in Seattle does now, and it does help one who WANTS to make better food choices. How does anybody spend $1000/year on clothing?

We are of the budget-everything-mind-set for the most part. Our finances are tight, so that makes sense for us. Savings is taken off the top.

Small changes work for me.

I would be careful to use the statement "You never pay taxes on money earned in a Roth." Are you sure that is correct?
Vinegar is such a great multipurpose liquid. My kid had a mild fungal infection on her legs and after apply vinegar to the infected spots it healed completely. I also use vinegar to disinfect and remove pee stains in my hamsters cages.
2310 calories and 108 grams of fat for a drink?? That is well unhealthy! I love their ice-creams, wonder if they contain as much calories.
Tip #4 is new to me! Also, separate dark colored clothes from the light colored ones when washing using the washing machine as some dark colored clothes can run and ruin the light colored clothes.
And the National Latvian newspaper, translated from Bloomberg News was my source.

Don't let your weight fluctuate. Outgrowing clothes is one way to make them last a very short time indeed.

Why are you only listing fat content, when that is the least fattening content? Carb content is the one you should be worried about.
