As a serial entrepreneur, I've learned that persistence is the best quality. Don't give up; follow your passion; listen to people who say it can't be done or it won't work, but take it as positive criticism.
You also have to have a strong ability to follow through.
Right now we are trying to pay off debt. We are close to a big windfall which is some encouragement that we need after climbing this uphill battle through two layoffs in 18 months.
Building an emergency fund. I'm currently paying off my last CC balance, so every extra penny goes to that. It seems like every time I get "extra" money (raise, rebate, etc.), then something comes up like a home or car repair, medical necessity, etc. I'd like an emergency fund for those situations so I don't use my CC.
You have to make sure you get thick enough tape and not tape that's too strong otherwise you wont be able to protect your screen/ wont be able to use touch screen and could end up damaging the screen when trying to peel off the tape.
I grilled out on Tuesday evening, and it was awesome! Plus, I had delicious grilled leftovers.
Another way I enjoy the outdoors during the week is biking to work. It's pretty hot in the evening, but when I leave for work in the morning, the air is fresh and cool. And if I can leave the house a little early, I can take my time to soak up the morning ride. It's a truly refreshing part of my routine. http://blog.mangomoney.com/cheap-fun/time-to-ride
Also, I love taking my dog out for a long walk when I get home from work. He loves to play basketball (it's true!) so we go to parks with courts, but I'm super jealous of your park bar. Sounds fun!
I'm a PB&J lifer. I keep jars of peanut butter and jelly in my desk at work and loaves of whole wheat bread in the freezer in the office kitchen. Another classic spin on the classic sandwich: Chips inside the PB&J. The salty crunch is awesome! I also like to make cinnamon-sugar open-face peanut butter sandwiches. Toast the sandwich so the cinnamon-sugar gets crunchy. It's wonderful with coffee!
Oh man, have I been there! I was advised by my older sister and parents to not get a credit card too soon. Before I knew it, I was graduating college and getting denied for credit cards because I had no credit history. The catch-22 from yesteryear had reared its ugly head in my face. I work for a blog and made a video (http://blog.mangomoney.com/trends/improving-your-credit-score-2) about this same subject, but advice for building credit is like advice to floss my teeth. I know what the proper behavior is, but a gentle (and often) reminder never hurts :)
there is another important use for the cash passport
it has the embedded chip that is missing in the US credit card .. which is really only necessary on automated ticket machines and gas pumps the later of which could be very important on sunday when the stations are closed
Same thing here. Unsolicited mailing. It is smarter to know and follow your own credit score and accounts. t wouldn't hurt (if you can afford it) to have credit tracking by all three major credit vendors. Especially with so many corporate data system breaches, you think you're not a target? This kind of sneaky business tactic is approved by your government, so you do the math. I shredded my ridiculous pre-approved application and card immediately after I followed up on this scam.
Whatever happened to good old citronella oil? I'm guessing that vanilla will only make them hungrier. Also, who wants to spray themselves with concentrated garlic? That sounds like a great way to repel friends. ;-)
I went into aldi's recently, and the prices were equivalent to other stores in the area. the store is also rather out of the way, so it is easier to shop elsewhere.
Mine is trying to find a reasonably priced house so I can start putting my money into the equity of a house I own rather than into a some other person's place that I rent.
Our biggest financial challenge is being working parents with two young kids. By the end of the day, cooking, cleaning or "planning for pennies" is the last thing on your mind, you are tired, worn out and simply want to get it all done, regardless of cost. That being said, we are trying to pay down debt and teach our children the real value of a dollar (which is another challenge and hard to do in today's environment).
Well your actually not completely accurate. I have netspend thru a local grocerystore logo chain called Heb and its free to load my card. The monthly fee is less than six dollars and heb ATM is almost at cost.,plus the savings acc
t at netspend is 5% apy. Try finding that at ur soo called legitimate bank. And lets talk about that dirty little bank practice all banks play? Its called incorrect balance amounts so u easily go over ur acct balance causing an overdraft fee? What u think banks don't lie to screw u like credit card companies who say they didn't get ur check ontime? Plus when u realize that netspend offers free direct dep and free life insurance as a perk for that direct deposit any idiot still using a bank is dense.
My biggest financial problem is getting my husband to be on the same page with me. Yes, there's always room for compromise, but we grew up very differently. I try very hard to do things as frugally as makes sense, while he'll have no problem buying frivolous things whenever he gets a chance. It's frustrating.
Thankfully, he's seeing how being frugal, and financially-savey, can bring peace of mind. :)

I have had problems with my back the past few days. Thanks for the tips. They are helpful.

Microsoft no longer makes stand-alone MP3 players. Zune functionality is included with Windows Phone 7 now.
The shuffle is worthless, if you want a good value (aka cheap) mp3 player, look at the Sansa Clip. It is 100x better than the shuffle.
Paying for my daughter's college education.
Uhm, minor point but gold IS actually rather important in making computers!! It's the best conductor and is used in all kinds of circuitry
Thanks for writing this! It's a good reminder for me to get my butt off the chair and do some of this stuff.

Sylvia apparently replying from her ivory tower.

Thank, Elizabeth, I will be posting this information on my blog; appreciate any information and/or savings us comsumers can benefit from.

I really wanted the vanilla extract to work, but it totally didn't. It was real vanilla, too.

Love these!! Thanks! for the vanilla extract, does it matter if it's imitation vanilla?
