i REALLY REALLY hate it when people drop by unannounced. i think its one of the rudest things you can do. you might as well show up on the doorstop and say "hi, i wanted to see you today and i just assumed you had nothing more important than me going on."
at least call and give a heads up. who says that the day you stop by is not a day that i am up to my neck with things to do and quickly running out of time? when people show up unexpectedly to my place, i usually make small talk and then say i have to run an errand. of course, 99% of my friends call first anyways.
I just wanted to thank you for writing this. My son is seven and a half months old and we didn't switch until he was a little over 6 months old. The generic brand was always sitting there, tempting me. I know what you mean about the guilt. I already feel a HUGE amount of guilt for not nursing as long as I wanted to. My so was on Enfamil, taking 120-150 dollars a month. One day someone sent me a day's supply of Parent's Choice (Wal-mart's brand) and my son did great on it! I actually like it better, there are no sudsy bubbles when I prepare it.
Paul, good article on a subject that will become even more critical over the next five years as economic stagnation brings pressure to the North American geopolitical landscape.
Canada and the U.S. under ONE currency would relegate Canada to a sub-state status.... imagine adding Mexico to the mix? Not pretty if you are Canadian; Questionable if you are Ameircan, and oh, joy if you are Mexican. I have added some thoughts at http://pacificgatepost.blogspot.com/2008/02/amero.html for those who have a moment.
Having a bowl of soup first really helps stretch the meal. Just keep some kind of acceptable dry soup mix around and add whatever veggies you have around. Or make Avgolemono with eggs, lemon juice and chicken broth. Easy and filling.
This is the video I think everyone is mentioning. Its something Ive watched a few times when I feel overwhelmed by my own customer service job. It makes me realize that every call I take at my own job is an oppurtunity to make a difference. Cheesy yeah, but it seems to help
I love when companies are responsive to your feedback and it sounds like they did a great job responding to your complaint. I have only had good experiences with this company so I am glad to hear that the relationship is on the mend (so to speak)...
My family likes to get Papa Murphy's everytime I visit. I don't think it is worth the extra time to pick it up and to cook it especially since we usually get 4 pizzas and it takes forever to cook them all. The last time I was visiting I got the stomach flu later that night. I won't be able to eat Papa Murphy's for a very very very long time.
I'm glad they responded to your complaint though. It is always nice to see a company care about their customers.
It looks really cool. I wanted to try it, but there's nowhere to actually SIGN UP.
You can sign up for an "invitation", but that may or may not come, and who knows when.

Ihave made everything from beer wine to rum and did lots of research on this and everyone says aluminum is a big no no bootleggers bible and the joy of home brewing both mention it the most safe still ive seen is strands amazing still that uses a 5 gallon bucket and a sumbergible heater like for a fish tank. i have used the kitchen stove with a gas flame with a copper still but that is very wacked it was when i was learning if your getting good stuff out of your still its very much like cooking gasoline on your stove 1 leak and blammo but dont use anything aluminum all those folks just wouldnt make that up
@Matt: Do you have a citation for that, such as a grammar website? I only ask because "making do" makes more sense and also, for a quick internet search, appears to be very common.
After watching the Food Networks "Chocolate Marathon" last weekend, I was buying into the idea I needed to lavishly spend money on Valentine's Day. I searched the websites, trying to find that perfect gift. I decided upon a box filled with 12 chocolate-dipped strawberries, for 50-dollars! But as my cursor hovered over the "proceed with purchase" button, I thought what the heck am I doing? I canceled the order, and proceeded to my nearest grocery store. At the store, I grabbed 2 high-end chocolate bars and, to my surprise, the store clerk was stocking fresh strawberries. I only spent 15 dollars. Simply asking “what am I doing” saved me 35 bucks, and my wife and I had a fun evening making chocolate-dipped strawberries.
hahaha i remember the alarm clock quote too. He was like.. Chris! why do you leave the clock on at night? You don't need to know the time when you're sleeping! it's like 2 cents an hour!
I looked up Saint Valentine's Day this morning, wondering what had happened to the Saint part. You are right. It belongs to the Greeting Card Assn.
My husband and I refuse to play. No cards, chocolates or diamonds. But we are cooking a 'gourmet' dinner tonight - at home, by ourselves. A good way to begin celebrating any evening with your love.
you are braver than me to shop at a store that has had cockroaches long enough for one to get inside a package. ICK!
i love creative stuff like this. although i can't imagine all that sweetened condensed milk being very healthy. ;)

Be well.
Impressive, very impressive. Pity for them I don't really eat much Pizza, and it's an awfully long drive from Brisbane ;-)

Yeah I signed up for the invitation yesterday and got the link to join today. It works quite well.

I still don't get the part where you cook it yourself, but that is a great response! Definitely get points for that.

Just wanted to comment that pennies before 1982 are pure copper.
Six figures really IS that much when you are making minimum wage.

If anyone is interested, I have written a Guide about these "secret codes" that they claim to use. I outline their tricks and publish the codes.
It can be found here:
