These are not life hacks. These are just normal basic skills everyone should know how to do. Life hacks are when you approach a situation and use an alternative and easier method to accomplish a task in an easier way. You should rethink your title. If this was a list of how to do each of these tasks in an easier way, then it would be a life hack.
This analysis seems to ignore what you'd like to AVOID in nuts. In particular, many experts recommend limiting omega-6 fatty acids (or polyunsaturated fatty acids in general). Walnuts, brazil nuts, and almonds, for example all have very high omega-6 content (http://paleozonenutrition.com/2011/05/10/omega-6-and-3-in-nuts-oils-meat...).
I personally prefer macadamia and hazelnuts for low omega-6 content even though they're more expensive. I'm not saying these are necessarily the best nuts because there are many many nutritional considerations. I'm just saying the analysis in this article fails to take an important factor into account.
You can do it very cheaply when compared to an apartment or house if you do it right... here is my example and in my opinion what every single young person should do to get ahead. I'm a young single guy and make 40k a year and live in Texas where lots of places charge about 400 a month for "rent", electricity, cable, and WiFi (high-speed), plus about 25 bucks for a concrete slab. I paid cash ($4500) for my travel trailer and spent a little more to have it inspected then about $1000 to fix some minor stuff with my dad helping me. So, all together my expenses come under $1000 a month including car insurance, cell phone, food, gas, etc. My car is paid off so all my extra money is going towards my own land so I can do this whole full-time thing even cheaper since my area has unrestricted land. After I get the land I may build a house, get a double wide, or maybe try the tiny home thing, but the point is I will have options and piece of mind, which is something I never had with a mortgage or an apartment. Just don't let the internet scare you from just going for it if you know you have it in you. Yet don't romanticize it either because their are trade-offs. Though for me the decision was apparent and I don't nor have I regretted it for a second. (6 months now and ready for 6 more)... :)
I've checked around and found sellmymiles. sold over 200k amex points. The guys there are great and would recommend to anyone looking to sell their miles.
Great post! I have been negotiating my cable bill ever since I subscribed to the service. I have several friends who have just been paying the advertised rate instead of negotiating it. Thanks for sharing these tips!
I don't see the connection with daylight saving time. You can do all this in the spring/summer anyway. DST is bad for our health and messes up our inner clock.
Yes, if it's supposed to be some kind of money saving hack, sure, you're right that's just dumb.
However, the drink made from taking a neutral spirit (so, not starting with gin) and infusing it with other herbs and spices, with the primary flavoring being juniper berry is not gin. It's more analogous to the precursor to gin known as jenever; which is has a much different flavor profile, though uses similar herbs. The basic difference being that gins are typically distilled with their flavors, where as jenever is typically an infusion.
If the goal is to make jenever, which again is a different beast than gin, it's not a stupid crazy lifehack and not much different than the link you point to that tells you how to infuse spirit with things like skittles (which, IMO, is pretty vile).
my favorite weekend activity is spending time with my family. We like to go to the lake or just play in the backyard! we also love going to church on Sundays :)
Very interesting read. FYI the wikipida scanner is Wiki Watch Dog. Seems a bit of work to use as not all people updating Wikipedia will be doing it with their own domain IP.

A new baby turns a family’s world upside. But in a good way. There is so much joy in a new life but if you’ve ever had a baby before, there is just no way to fully grasp the enormity of the life changes that accompany the event.
I have to disagree with some of these choices. It's all about expectations and what you're looking for. You don't go to Istanbul for beaches and nightlife, and you don't go to Costa Rica for art, culture, and food.
Istanbul is an amazing city with layers and layers of history and amazing architecture. Costa Rica is a destination for outdoor activities and nature. (I find the food bland in most of Central America by the way.)
As for Bali, it sure is very touristy, but there is more to it than the beaches full of drunks in the South. Have you been to Ubud? I love it for the music and dance performances, the great choice of foods, and the beautiful sculptures. It also has a unique Hindu religion, not found on the other Indonesian islands.
I save money by using coupons.
I save money by using coupons and shopping sales
I use coupons to save money on groceries! I find them on coupon sites and in the newspaper!

And i thought that these kind of sales were only my idea :)
Good post and good idea... Thanks
I like to go out to dinner.
I have coins stuck to some of my wooden furniture and I have no idea how to get them off without harming the wood any ideas?

sleeping is my favorite weekend activity now that i have a new baby
I too love celebrating post holiday. Not only do you save money that way, but it always gives me something to look forward to as well.
The Gin one is a little unfair.

I like to read, wake up late, cook, listen to music and call my family and friends.
