Thanks for your swell comment. You can use pretty much any piece of card stock as a postcard as long as it meets the measurements of a standard postcard. I've found this to be true abroad as well. In addition to Christmas cards, I like to cut up foreign food packaging when I'm traveling to use as travel post cards. People always laugh when they see how sugar cubes are advertised on the box in Italy for example: "A Burst of Energy in Every Spoonful!"
Ive gotten pretty comfortable at 58-61 or so in the winter in Northern Va, electric bill has never gone above 93 or so. Its not bad, just sweatpants, socks, nice comforter, and let the pipes drip so theres always water flowing though them.
I actually combine #4 Go For A Walk and #6 Read at the same time during lunch at a park about 5 minutes from work. I walk laps and listen to my favorite podcast of the day. Gets blood pumping in my legs AND brain! :)
We live in a particularly small home as well, so saving every inch is important for us too.
Love the annual book swap party. I sense a new annual tradition in the offing.
And reusing the fronts of Christmas cards as thank you cards is absolutely brilliant! We inherited a large pile of cards that we're working through but once we're done, the thank you post card tradition is in the works.
My husband and I decided to invest in a small home gym several years ago. It's much cheaper than a commercial gym and there are no excuses for not getting a workout in at least 5 days a week. If the temperatures are in the mid 30's or better, we try to get outside on weekends for a walk, hike or snowshoeing.
Sometimes I need to remind myself that just because it's cold or raining a little (I live in the NW) it doesn't mean you can't go outside. I layer up, put in my headphones and go. It's uncomfortable for about 5 minutes and then I realize that the winter is so beautiful. It's quiet, parks and trails are less crowed and I often see animals I don't see in hotter months.
I sign up for a mid-winter race (something long, like 10 miles). Then I have to go out and run in the cold or the race will be miserable! I also do T25 and walk the dog.
I usually just take my workout indoors either at the gym at my apartment complex or by doing workout videos I find on youtube. I have a half-membership at the gym on my university's campus, so part of the time I will go there and run on the indoor track if the treadmill isn't doing it for me. Very rarely, I mean really rarely, and it can't be super cold, I will bundle up and try to run outside, but that doesn't usually last too long.
In Egypt, we try to give a mental shock, a weird news, or a sudden exposure to a environment change to stop hiccups and it works :)
Ashley, is this the RSVP for the 1/15 party??? Headline says last week....???

Perfect is another word very overused today. Right alongside of awesome!
I tend to do yoga and run on my treadmill indoors because it gets too cold and icy outside.

Don't forget to cut/mark out your personal info on those magazines!
Cool! Way too cool.
"Ya-know"
Great tips, thanks!

My dog, Cooper, keeps me walking year around. He also likes to dance when we are inside listening to music.
Cool, dude, like, ya know, hey
I use my treadmill in the comfort of my house.
Absolutely also has to go.
Anybody that says "of course" when not knowing anything about the subject.....is not awesome.

I'm bad about it, but I try to go to the gym. I'm hoping to get better soon!
We do "dance parties" with the kids. It's a fun way to be active when it's too cold to go outside.

I add some P90X workouts when the weather gets bad and I can't make it to the gym!

I have small children so I like to take them out to play in the snow
