Corporate Social responsibility should aim to protect citizens by considering those things that best represent the greatest good. These can include being environmentally conscious & active, promoting & supporting wellness initiatives & giving back to local communities where ever possible.
Corporate social responsibility means that a company is as dedicated to pursuing social good as much as it pursues profit. This requires governance structures that actively monitor the company's impact on a variety of factors as well as the commitment of company leadership.
I LOVE companies that "give back!" I buy many of Paul Newman food products, not only because they are good, but also a percentage of the profits go to charities!! An honorable legacy to leave & a great role model!!!
How is getting 50k inheritance windfall "inspiring" for those people who have older generations of their family that failed to save, lost their home, need to be supported, etc., you will NOT get an inheritance. Having money handed to you is not something everyone can do and is about the opposite of "inspiring."
Corporate Responsibility is a value that instills productive and successful outcome developed with a sense of their mission statement, leaning towards the greater good of our social character. As a Master level Education Teacher, I have seen administrations with the drive to empower and direct both students and educators with this critical positive social equality and the schools thrive and the students begin to realize how important adopting this ideation is for success. unfortunately/school systems the opposite within school systems that do not adopt development of corporate responsibility.
Treat the employees like human beings instead of indentured servants. The happier your employees are, the happier your customers will be. The stockholders will be happier, too.
Corporate responsibility mean (to me) treating their employees fairly, providing them with decent wages and taking care of them with benefits and vacations. Bigger corporations should give back to the community, but unfortunately most do not.
All the more reason to use Times New Roman. Any company that would let a hiring manager make ANY decision based on the font used by an applicant should be shunned.
I think corporate responsibility is not only doing good for the community but also doing no harm. It's important to give back via charities, but that would not make up for polluting land or water.
This is the best information I ever knew about baby formulas. I also feed my baby with a famous store brand formula and it is working perfect :) Only thing was this guilt from which I am over now. Thanks
I think it means being involved in the community. Making it a better place to live and work and raise children. Corporations need to be aware of better practices for the environment, for their employees and their families and other businesses in the area.
Corporate social responsibility to me is a win/win situation. Companies give back to surrounding communities not only through donations but also through volunteering their time and in turn, the company is more appealing in the public's eyes which can boost business and make the company more successful.
Except that this is completely untrue. Sure, maybe in fields like graphic design or typography, where people actually care about fonts, this might be an issue. But for most hiring managers, the important thing is the content of the resume, not the font. (So long as it's not comic sans...)
I have to admit I am one of those skeptical folks. CSR is nothing more than a PR expenditure and a hiring/retention tool. Businesses that are not in the business of social welfare tend to either make little to no impact or even totally screw over a community. They swoop in with dozens of unskilled laborers, clean up an area, take a few PR shots, and then leave to never return. The ones that do the best CSR hire/partner with a social welfare organization and just provide funds and people. And then they take it off their taxes as a business expense.
It means environmentally friendly and sustainable... it means giving back to the community that is making you successful... it means being decent to your employees - it means people will want to buy what you are selling and work for you... and many other things.
Hey Emily,
Inspirational post. Automating our life is not as easy, it requires sacrifice and attention to the goal. If you're dedicated to the goal, no one can stop you to achieve it. I too have automated my diet plan and I'm stick to it :)
I think it's clear that these are all about making life a little more luxurious - but saying they are "worth it" is a judgment call on personal values. For me, a lot of these aren't worth it.
Priority boarding for example - especially if I'm running late are not worth it. If I'm late, most likely I'm going to scrape in under the wire at the gate anyways and everyone is already on the plane. And if I'm early, why the hell would I pay so I could sit on the plane while everyone else waits in line?
Personally, I'm the guy that waits at the gate until the last person has gone through and then I board. It helps that I don't carry big carry-ons.
Meow Mix dry cat food is so bad for cats (has to do with excessive amounts of some minerals) that my veterinarian actually has a flyer made up to hand out to new cat parents, warning them not to buy it.
being more responsible with having greater responsibility

nearly every resume of all time goes into an ATS and the font is never considered.

Giving back to the community is a win- win. Great way to generate business with a positive image.
Beware: the white milky sap from milkweed is toxic. Wash your hands well with soap and water. If it gets in your eyes, it can mean a trip to the ER!

the dollar store version of zyrtec is not only significantly cheaper than all the other generics but it works the same.
this article was based on fear not product testing.

This is a great list Ashley.
The lifestyle changes you make when you stay home aren't really cutting back...they just happen to be more money efficient.
Do you know how much you're saving by staying at home, making your own cleaning products etc?
Knowing what's possible may influence expecting mothers on what they will choose to do when the LO arrives.

But...I would totally pay for leg room.
