Not mentioned... Go to bed! If your hosts retire for the night, it would be courteous if you also retire, at least to those spaces set aside for you. That allows the host access to the "common areas" to clean, work, or simply have peace and quiet.
Use to fill screw holes. Dip toothpick or wooden match stick into nail polish. Drive wood into screw hole. Snap off extra wood. Apply nail polish to ends of wood and around inner edge of screw hole. Replace hinge. Screw into original hole. Allow finger nail polish to dry.
Doing your own taxes is not necessarily the best idea. If you have a simple straight forward single employed income without investments, multiple properties, freelancing, etc then it works great. Otherwise a tax professional could potentially save you a significant amount of money.
I personally feel that travelers don't like to spend too much time in preparing their food and exploring items locally. Instead, you can make a list of good and affordable restaurants by checking local websites of the place you're visiting. This will reduce food expenses a lot and you too can taste a wide range of food items.
If you are travelling with other friends or family, taking a powerboard (multiple power sockets) means you only need one power adaptor and everyone can charge their phones, etc at the same time!"
My favorite supermarket "trick" is to never buy any type of boxed mix, item from the bakery or deli (including bread) or frozen meal. Ignore the coupons, hype and processed foods and only buy what's on sale in the meat and produce departments. I am fortunate to have several large grocery stores on my regular driving routes, so I check the ads each week and if there's something I use regularly I stock up when it's on sale. Otherwise, I don't buy it. I purchase toiletries, paper goods, etc. at Target.
Also, I time the sales. Various stores put items on sale in a cycle, so I know chicken breasts, chuck roast, canned tomatoes, etc. will go on sale about once every three weeks. I plan my meals around what will be on sale for the week.
I'll BBQ or cook some of his favorite foods for dinner, the kids make him homemade cards, and I the weather's nice, we'll head to the local beach (pond) or take a hike somewhere local. We don't do gifts on Mom/Dad's day, but concentrate on having a nice day with the emphasis on spending time together doing something we enjoy rather than spending money.
The assessed value will remain the same, however you may contest the current tax value to the assessor with a current appraisal and they will do their own research/appraisal and you may get some tax relief with this process.
We moved Father's Day to Saturday, and I'll make dinner at home. The kids will visit that day. Sunday, my husband and I are going to the beach. We will pack our own lunch. There is also a free concert out at the beach that day. Sounds perfect to me!
My question is how do they know my name!? I never applied for this & then I get a card outta the blue? Im glad I didn't activate it! I thought it was something from my new job!
Instead of dining out at an expensive restaurant, we do a family pot luck to celebrate our love for Dad. He really enjoys the time with his kids and Grands in a more relaxed setting. We enjoy it too and especially the great food and great company.
I realized early on that what my husband really wanted was some time with other dad friends, a beer, and to BBQ outside. So, we started a tradition of having one (or more, when possible!) of our closest dad friends and their kids and wives, come over for a chill BBQ in the back yard. Everyone brings something to share for dinner, I make sure there's cold beer, and the dads relax by the grill as the kids run around together. We moms usually enjoy a beverage too, and keep an eye on the kids while we catch up and laugh with the dads. It's been great!
My son-in-law wants to go with his wife and two kids to the nearby community swim center for a Father's Day picnic. They already have season passes for the kids and their mother, so all they will have to pay is $6 for the dad. As for my husband and father of my children, he will have the company of his loving wife and son for baseball on TV and hamburgers on the grill.

We splurged a little on ingredients but had a nice dinner at home instead of eating at a restaurant.

Make a nice breakfast that the DAD likes :)
Thanks Sue!

I make my husband a nice dinner for Fathers Day
No, then the machines would rebel faster than we had originally planned....
Also, on a serious note, I've worked in retail for 10 years and I have to say that people... humanity... has failed to impress.

We do homemade cards.
We do a barbeque at home and exchange cards.

We eat at home and celebrate with homemade cards and lots of hugs.
For my dad, the Father's Day celebration is more about time spent together than about spending money or buying things.
Anytime you use a double boiler, boil some eggs in the bottom pot.
Getting pops a gift used with a coupon code online saves me money!
