Last summer I accompanied my niece and her two sons back to the East Coast, using Alaska Airlines bonus passes (buy one ticket, second is $109). We visited Philly, New York City (I had a house-sitting gig) and then my dad's Christmas tree farm in South Jersey. We also did a day trip to Ocean City, NJ, where the boys swam in their first ocean.
It was great fun, but also too rushed. My ideal vacation would be the same itinerary but more time in each place -- and this time around I'd bring my life partner, who's never met my dad or been to South Jersey.
I consider myself lucky, because I've had two dream vacations: the first, to London, England. Spent two glorious weeks - all by myself, mind - six years ago seeing the sites. The second trip was to Japan. Saw Tokyo, Kyoto, and Mt Fuji - got to ride a bullet train. Went with a friend and had a blast.
Now I get to decide where to go next year. That trip will depend on how much $$$ I can save and how well the economy is doing.
Hi Nick, I accumulated massive student loans at UMass Amherst studying discredited economic theory from pseudo radical professors who preach Marx to impressionable students during the week but check their 401k statements hoping that the S&P 500 climbs a few points by the end of the quarter. I also studied merdre like semiotics, Trotsky, Lacan and Foucault and thought I was really bright because I got good grades & lots of praise from said pseudo radical professors.
A few years later I came to understand that I had made a series of horrible choices. I tried to make it as a writer, I was even writing shameful clickbait articles attacking successful rock stars and blogging for Fox News! It was barely enough to pay for my tattoos and modernist furniture.
I am thinking of moving to another nation to avoid my student loans... Any advice?
@Guest Yes, you're right in that negotiations need to happen before the bid. That is really the ideal scenario.
Regarding the no-tracking shipping, some sellers do actually ship without tracking for really small items, such as smartphone screen protectors or cheap headphones. I have dealt with two on a regular basis that have over 20,000 ratings and they do on this on a regular basis. It is the only way that they can ship their prices so low.
eBay is a great marketplace because there are several sellers open to negotiations.

I agree with most of these but my dermatologist told me to alternate Head and Shoulders shampoo with a prescription medicated shampoo for a scalp condition (just itches, no flakes, slightly pink scalp). I tried Head and Shoulders long ago for some flakes and it did dry my hair out, but this time at the doctor's recommendation, I apply a little conditioner ...a different brand, not Head and Shoulders and my hair has maintained it's softness and is not dry at all.
Getting the most out of my credit card reward points is the easiest income stream for me. I have a capital one business credit card that earns 2 points for every dollar I spend. Since I spend a lot of money on advertising, my points really rack up quickly (about 60,000/month)! I'd then redeem the points for gift cards since gift cards have the highest dollar/point value. It takes 10,000 points for a $100 gift card. So I get about $600 worth of gift cards every month, not bad for doing almost nothing!
Mars and back. Seriously. I think it'd be downright amazing. But on a serious note, I think visiting ancestral grounds in Scotland, followed by a European trek.
Thanks for these tips, I never thought there were so many ways to deal with a clogged drain. Maybe I can give one of these a try instead of taking apart the trap next time. Do you think they would be beneficial for drain cleaning as a way to prevent blocks?
I drive to work, but I thought this article would be worth my time because of the parenthetical comment that included drivers. Beyond listening to a podcast or the radio (why would it need to be NPR?) there is nothing here you can do safely while driving. I think most of us who drive to work have already figured out we can listen to the radio or a podcast.
Yeah... It's pretty obvious that until you know who you're talking to, always keep religion, politics, spirituality, animal rights, and mumbo-jumbo like "Law of Attraction" to yourself. There's enough to chat about with a stranger that you should be able to avoid the personal beliefs arena until you get to know a person better.

Hey, we should add one--never use phrases that are rooted in legal allowances for spousal abuse, like "Rule of thumb" (look it up) I cringe every time i hear that phrase
