I make my lunch the night before and then in the morning I just pack it all together. The times I don't do it the night before have definitely screwed up my schedule.
Also, I heat up breakfast and then shower while it cools.
My doctor put me on 800 micrograms a day of Chromium when it was discovered that I'm hyperglycemic. Vanadium should also be considered though she didn't prescribe that to me.
Here is the best info I could find about Vanadium, written by an M.D. His site sells the stuff so I didn't just include the link because I don't want people to think I am plugging a product. I'm just trying to help.
"One of the most effective natural treatments for diabetes is vanadium. This unique trace mineral works to lower blood sugar by mimicking insulin and improving the cells’ sensitivity to insulin.
Supplementation with vanadyl sulfate and other vanadium compounds markedly lowers fasting glucose and improves other measures of diabetes. In a number of animal studies, this mineral has actually eliminated diabetes.
Human studies, although not as numerous, are also compelling. In a landmark study, eight people with type 2 diabetes receiving 50 mg of vanadyl sulfate twice a day for four weeks, followed by a placebo for four weeks, were found to have a 20 percent reduction in average fasting blood sugar, which lasted well into the placebo period after the mineral was discontinued. The only reported adverse effect was minor gastrointestinal (GI) distress during the first few days of the study.
Vanadium is quite safe, even at doses of up to 400 mg per day. Don’t be surprised if you hear rumors to the contrary. According to Dr. John McNeill, one of the world’s leading experts on vanadium, these unfounded precautions are based on toxicity studies done by a single researcher and have never been replicated by anyone else.
Many physicians have utilized vanadyl sulfate with thousands of people living with diabetes in doses of 100–150 mg per day with remarkable success and absolutely no adverse reactions, save slight GI distress in a few individuals."
Saving all my change. I usually have enough at the end of the year to pay a large part of a vacation or use for Christmas so the overall budget is not affected
Surprisingly enough a dishwasher gets dirty over time too. Hard water, soap scum, etc. it can all make your dishwasher look grimy. Just use a packet (or 2, depending on dirty it looks) of the plain (aka, no sugar) powdered lemon-aid mix in the detergent dispenser and run the normal cycle. Come back in two hours and your dishwasher is sparkling clean and lemony fresh -- No scrubbing needed! The lemonaid packets are about $.25 each at the grocery store.
I love to make dressings and sauces in a wide mouth canning jar with an immersion blender. The clean up is a cinch and then you just screw on a lid and you're done. bethanyg153 at gmail dot com
I've had 2 Roombas (and a Scooba) over the years. The problem has never been whether they are any good at vacuuming, because they aren't (at least for me) intended to be the only way I clean my floors. They are intended to be a time-saver for daily maintenance. I loved running my Scooba at night, because the floor would be mostly clean and dry when we woke up.
No, the problem is that they are a huge pain to clean, and the batteries are fairly cruddy. If you aren't religious about charging them regularly, the battery loses capacity really fast. Takes more time to clean them than it would take to just grab a broom and do it myself. Maybe that is because we have quite a few cats and dogs running around the house, and they have issues with pet hair, but they've never really been much of a solution for us.
If not available on Netflix streaming, I put DVDs on hold at the local library. It's free and fast--just have to find my name on the shelf and self checkout!
We use Skype to talk to family members all over the country and to see and hear my brother when he is traveling overseas for his job in the military! My kids love to see their uncle!
i used a cash advance company called Merchant Advance Capital. They were fast and really nice to deal with. Expensive, but i would recommend it if you have bad credit.
Thanks for this post... I was trying to figure out what to do with the bread we always seem to have leftover. I didn't even think of all the cooking purposes. I was mostly trying to figure out if I could feed it to the birds without doing any serious damage... seeing I give my family carbs, I don't really feel too badly giving our local birds carbs too. If only we had some local flying cockroaches... ;)
I used skype to stay in touch with my sister when she went away for college. was great to be able to see her face as we couldnt get together in person.
Some dogs will swallow some of the fabric and that can turn into a serious problem. My dog ate a piece of a blanket and spent 3 days at the vet trying to pass the foreign object (the piece of blanket). Luckily it went through her and she didn't have to have surgery to remove it. We dodged a bullet but others may not be as lucky so supervise your dog when they play with any type of toy for the first time to make sure they are safe!
I have been buying and selling real estate my entire life without the aid of a real estate agent. Title companies and attorneys do most of the work. For those people that are unable or willing to go through the process (an easy process) then they should have access to someone who will provide the services. The services should be offered at a flat fee 500 to list, 500 for a lockbox etc. I have seen agents who walk away with ridiculous commissions on real estate for doing absolutely nothing. Time for a change...
Margins and slowing my pace of life down have both helped me to reduce stress and be more patient. Knowing I have extra buffer time if something goes wrong makes all the difference! And working as a piano teacher with tons of stressed, over-scheduled moms and kids has led my husband (who is a guitar teacher) and me to choose a slower pace and really enjoy the things we do instead of letting American culture dictate how busy we are. No kids yet, which is a huge factor, but we want to do everything we can to keep family life calm and unhurried when that is possible!
I make up a huge batch of homemade laundry detergent, and keep all the extra ingredients together and ready to go (even the grated soap) when I need to make up more.
my favorite "lifehack" was to get rid of cable. i have used playon for the last 3 years. it was a onetime fee and i get MUCH better customer service!!
however, i have another one that i regularly use as well... rather than using a bucket when i mop my floors i use one of my trashcans. this way when i am done not only is my floor clean but the trashcan smells nice.
It's old school, but I'm a fan of to do lists. If I don't write it down I probably won't remember it! It just helps me to organize my mind/day/priorities, and then I get the great satisfaction of crossing items off of it as I complete them and can feel a sense of accomplishment.

Minor, but revealing: It's "GIMP", not "The Gimp".

No I don't think I do!

Text friends?!! Oh dear. I hope you haven't seen that one.

Get your groceries delivered to save time going to the store.

My lifehack is about creating a great GTD system to ensure that inbox zero is continually met.

My lifehack is preparing meals ahead of time to save time later on. We make a lot and freeze meals and believe me it saves time later.
