I used to drink over 2 liters of Diet Pepsi a day! I have since stopped and not drink a gallon of water per day.I add cucumber to my water, for a refreshing taste. With a few other tweaks in my diet, I have lost 33 pounds!
I didn't think the comments were common sense . You don't have to buy a Sunday paper, join a coupon group, buy multiples of something you never tried before. Even though it may be the companies plan to get you to be loyal to there product by offering a coupon, many people that coupon are not loyal to certain brands that they would run out and buy a non sale item just to save .50 at 3 am.
Most coupons are actually for toiletry items and cleaning products. I looked in a recent coupon section and there were only 6 food coupons they rest were non edible products.
I always find it funny when people say they don't use coupons because there don't eat processed foods. I mostly use the cleaning and toiletry ones . The only food ones I use are cereal, pizza, coffee, milk, and yogurt.
A recent splurge was new windows for my house. I could afford it, so it wasn't a harmful splurge, but it was quite pricey and not something I normally invest in. It had been 16 years and we could tell there were leaks, so we went for it and bought replacement windows for the leakiest spots.
I bought a new washer. My old one was only three years old and stopped draining all of the sudden. I had my husband take it apart twice to see if it could be fixed. After researching the old model online, the repair cost didn't seem worth fixing it.
I have a 403(b) through my employer and they offer matching that is far better than any of my friends with a 401(k). They match 100% up to 8% of salary and after you are vested (3 years) they match 150% up to 8%. So, since I am vested, I contribute 8% and my employer contributes 12% for an astounding 20% of income invested for retirement.
I have seen this happen in many stores, where 40 mannequins were destroyed instead of donating them to a Fashion Design college, for students to use. 40 were crushed, I saw them online, brand new for $68.00 a piece. How about selling them to the employees ? then donating the money to a Charity or Wildlife Conservation, Animal Shelter, or Homeless shelter.
The same company, but other store, takes bids on racks, and unusable items from their employees, and donate the money. So these stores are not communicating, some destroy and some give away. who is implementing the DESTROY Policy ? and why. Smart stores like Macy's who is closing several stores is selling every fixture and item to make money. They are smarter.
I bought myself new bedding to brighten up our room, with the Blizzard we had I needed some Sunshine in our home! That's the biggest splurge I've had :)
Recently, I splurged on my first eyeglasses. I wanted something that will look good on me and will also be for long-term use. I don't think it was worth though because I hardly use it. It was definitely an impulse buy and I could have shopped around for one with lower price tag but since I got too excited, end up buying a really expensive one.
We are cutting way back on spending so my most recent splurge was in Dec. with a new dishwasher. I could have just gone back to washing dishes by hand but bit the bullet and got a Bosch which was the splurge part.
My most reason splurge was a t-shirt at local art exhibit. The show included my son's art piece. It was $15 and thought this may be a memento vs. an eating treat and be gone. It's hard to know when something is worth spending extra. This was a week ago and actually still struggling with this splurge.
Lunch out with my 2 kids two days in a row. The first after a Dr appointment when the oldest got poked in the eye with a pencil and the second when my youngest was being pokey on errands and they were both super hungry.
My most recent splurge was a $20 affiliate marketing course on Udemy. I saw it as an investment in my future and another way that I can get out of the rat race. My decision to splurge on something is really about how much I want it and deciding how it will benefit me.
i rarely splurge and even rarer do i buy shoes but i found a pair of black boots that are so perfect, i knew they existed and i've waited a decade to find them....and i was bored one day and walking around and literally walked past a shoe place i never saw before, went to the sale rack and boom there they were, i literally screamed....i got my very practical, very wearable stylish fabulous boots for just $35...not much $$ to some but boy what a great deal.
I just bought a new Garmin Fenix 3 sports watch to "Help" me stay on my fitness program. At almost $650 for the bundle it was fairly expensive. I'm completely satisfied with the purchase so far and have 3 runs with it under my belt.
a vacation to Mexico
Best I have ever used is the Karmin ;) ;)

I was thinking about this recently, but the prices...I think it's time to see the ophthalmologist, so maybe I can get the insurance to pay.
An Easter dress for myself. I'm tired of wearing black on Easter!

a tv for the basement, there were sales during the superbowl so we jumped on it

We don't splurge often, but we technically just splurged on a fun DJ for our upcoming wedding!
I have some retired American girl dolls with a lot of pieces to sell!

I recently splurged on buying an expensive pair of running shoes. I am training for a marathon and supportive shoes are key!!
My latest splurge was on an expensive pair of running shoes!
our most recent splurge was a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon
