I use business cards for sure! I have some for my 'regular' business, and then some more generic (no business info), in a more noticeable, memorable color.
I used them a lot more when I was job hunting. I'm a teacher, so I don't really network. I mostly just give them out so people have my phone number. The ones I got are very cute and get lots of compliments.
I use business cards. I have two different ones - my business and my personal card. I designed my business card for a small startup (there are only two of us), so it is nice to have it during client meetings to make sure that I will make a lasting impression on all professionals that I meet. In addition, I bring it to trade conferences and the like, in case I meet somebody who may be a strategic future business partner.
I bring the personal cards everywhere else. Especially when I volunteer, I like to be able to give out my contact info without bringing my business life into the situation. I think that my job does not define who I am, so it seems inappropriate to give out a card labeled with my business for personal use. Therefore, personal card.
Fresh herbs are also one of those things that are ridiculously expensive in the grocery store -- for the cost of a packet of fresh herbs you can typically buy a plant that you can harvest from for the whole season as opposed to using the bit you need at the time and having the rest go moldy in the refrigerator. And if you can put your plants outside, you can usually grow enough to dry, and the flavor is far far superior to the dried herbs you buy in the store. Plus, if you live somewhere warmer than Michigan, most woody herbs are perennial and your $3 plant will provide you with excellent seasoning for years to come. Dollars and cents wise, there are few better bargains than a rosemary, oregano/marjoram, or thyme plant.

Before I had a business card, I exchanged them at conferences to make contact with persons in my desired field. I also made notes on the back of the card so that I could keep up with where I met the person whose card I had.
I do not use business cards because I've not taken the time to design them & I'm waiting on obtaining my national certification so that can be added to them.
When I spend on my Credit cards, I simply enter that amount (rounded up to the nearest dollar) in my Checking register. Means I'll always have money to pay the card bill...
People just need to stop being lazy.

Cash? I went shopping this past December because t he department store nearby was having a big sale. When I got to the counter I ws asked for my store credit card. I replied that I didn't have one. I was asked if I wanted to apply. I replied that I did not. She then looked at me ans said "If you aren't using your [name of store] card, how are you planning to pay?" I told her, "I am going to hand you some money and you will give me change and my purchase." It's a sad situation when cashiers don't know what to do with cash.
