But I find that the little packets are the BEST. If they don't come with the flowers you buy, you can sometimes charm the florist at Safeway into giving you a spare pack if you smile broadly enough.
from that cheesy "bed of roses" movie w/christian slater (ok i liked the movie and i liked him). it works! something to do w/the sugar and lemon - so maybe lemonade works just as well. they do last longer!
It can take a while to establish yourself as a reputable art seller. The thing that often makes up my mind for me is not the art itself but the cost of shipping it. Take the Mr. T portrait I linked to - there's no reason for that to cost $70 to ship it to the U.S. Yes, overseas shipping is expensive, but that is bloody ridiculous.
Anyway, yes - there IS something for everyone. My sister recently purchased an oil painting of a panda bear that is both oddly cute and nightmare-inducing. To each their own.

All I get is the same survey over and over - asking me if I plan on renting a car, and then trying to install spyware on my computer. What's the deal? I don't want sweepstakes entries for talking about Macy's advertising - I want money. Am I doing something wrong?

The payoff is slim, but it's actually kind of fun, and you sometimes find out about new ideas companies you know are throwing around way before it actually happens (like starbucks in a styrofoam cup at 7-11 or a name change for the phillip morris company).
After I wrote my post, I sent DailyLit an email with a link, and thanked them for their service. They let me know that they'll be expanding the site soon, with forms for book discussion, etc. Sounds like they'll be trying to build a little Reading community over there. Very cool!
for those w/flexible work schedules, while searching for survey sites that pay you for your time, keep an eye out for sites recruiting people for focus groups. i just went to one yesterday that paid $150 CASH for 2 hours of my time discussing organic foods. the company I went through was fieldwork .

this is awesome! i get so bored at my job (so bored, in fact, that i have about 35 blogs i read multiple times a shift, always hoping for more updates) and i too am a Reader with a capital R. I just bought french women don't get fat because of the post about vegetable soup a few days ago too...
