I have used this on my lawns since around 2002. Every home we have lived in (2 rentals and now I am buying) has gotten this lawn treatment and the envy of my neighbors. Sure lots of people will say that this does not work...blah, blah, blah. They never stop to think what did people do to grow things prior to all the products you can brought at the store? I will not take the time to explain the basic science behind using these items on your lawn. Honestly, I hope the doubters don't use this formula quite frankly. I wish that some of these formulas remained a secret, but since they are out, the less people use them the better IMO. I like having the best lawn on my street. One of my favorite things I did with salt recently was bake fudgey brownies using coarse sea salt. I love the salty/sweet combination, and the coarseness made the brownies have great bursts of saltiness. Mmm.
I also had a Groupon for a business that closed down, and I was impressed by how quickly Groupon refunded my money. It's always heartwarming to experience some good customer service.
It really is the reason why people aren't buying green. Sadly McDonalds can leave someone with a more filled and satisfying (although massively unhealthy as well) feeling than a single apple at the same price can. These families would buy green if they could but it's way too expensive and unfortunately Mcdonalds go a long way for the budget these kind of people have. If only the government would subsidize the farmers who go by the organic system, everything would be cheaper but there's a lot of politics in it at play. It's all in the documentary Food Inc. The amount is very small, and to be honest, I'm not entirely sure why it's there, but it probably cuts the strangely metallic taste of table salt. The amount is supposedly negligible; not enough to raise blood sugar in diabetics, for instance.
Many flavored salts have sugar added - I bought a "chocolate" salt once, only to find that it was mostly composed of flour and sugar. :)
One thing to be careful is that some of these daily deal sites actually prohibit this kind of secondary resale of their coupons. We run a website locally for Hong Kong with a free service to help resell these deals at (http://www.hongkonggroupon.com). So far we have been notified already by 1 such deal site telling us that this is not allowed and to remove their resale postings.
We don't often use our Groupons right away. We do also use Restaurant.com, and I've had both situations where either the restaurant closed or they stopped accepting the certificates, and in both cases, Restaurant.com was happy to issue a credit.
I use table salt for baking, kosher(ing) salt for cooking, and have specialty salts on the table. We have Hawaiian pink and black, fleur de sel, French grey sea salt, Australian apricot flake, Himalayan pink, and black truffle salt. I love them all on different things, but I would have to say the black truffle salt is my fave, followed closely by the apricot flake. So yummy!

One day I happened to see the ingredients on the box of Windsor Table Salt in my kitchen and was astonished to see that it contained sugar, as well as salt, calcium silicate and potassium iodide. Why sugar??? I won't be buying it again, once this box is used up.
I wouldn't recommend it to people in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I used to be a diehard free movie goer, but the time needed to wait in line to be ensured a theater seat got earlier and earlier - from 45 minutes to an hour to an hour and a half and so on. Also, not all of the movies need only a convenient print-out ticket. Advanced passes can be found at random shops around town - the gas and time spent driving to pick up movie passes are also ridiculous.
But if you're in the DFW and are yearning to see movies in advance, here's a Yahoo Group dedicated to free movie screenings in our neck of the woods: http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/DallasMovieScreenings/. Beware - this group grows daily so the competition for those small number of seats is fierce.
Here's a business I thought would be great for laundering. You go through the legal motions of becoming a PI (Private Investigator); license, permit, office, everything. Then, you go to banks in the area, explain that your business is strictly cash. Why? You specialize in investigating potential hostile corporate take-overs. You're hired and paid by large companies (A) to investigate various "hostile" companies, (B). These companies (A) pay you in cash to avoid a paper trail. It's not shown on their books. Your rate is $2500 per day. You make fake invoices leaving the names of all companies involved blank, for "security reasons." Deposit no more than $10,000 per week for about 5 weeks. Take a trip. Come back and do the same thing. If anyone asks, tell them you're not allowed to talk about the impending investigation. Stay in one town doing this for about 6 months. Then move to another town. Your average cash "input" will be about $150,000 to $200,000 per six month period. Also, always pay in cash, the results of your diligent detective work. Any comments?
I think it's a bunch of hooey. My husband's last name starts with a Y and he is as tight with money as his parents. My last name was a F and I never owned a credit card and paid all expenses with cash. As a married couple, we are quite frugal and analytical when it comes to spending. Go figure.

I read the Time article (which didn't link the source study either) and noticed that none of the experiments dealt with loss. The experiments all dealt with people being given the chance to win things or being given scenarios under which they had to wait to receive a gain.
The only one dealing directly with shopping is hypothetical. All it really proves is that people with end of the alphabet last names may be more cost-conscious and willing to go out of their way to find a bargain. A better way to administer this test would have been to give students actual money to spend on an item then see what happens.
My point is they didn't check for risk aversion which makes this study only half complete. People are less likely to act in impulsive ways when loss is involved than when gains are involved. When the participants have nothing to lose, all this study proves is that the last letter names are more deal savvy.
I spring clean every year because I like to think it is the one time during the year devoted to really paying attention to the little things that may be missed. I like to think it's another holiday to celebrate nourishing our humble abodes and creating an environment worth residing in.
Boil the water before you add baking soda. Carefully do this, as it should fizz. Use once cooled enough. Let as little of your hard water touch your hair as possible, I don't even rinse mine. I pour vinegar or tea rinse in immediately after, and I turn the shower water off before even washing hair. This saved baking soda hair washing for me. :)
Fresh squeezed orange juice is my favorite conditioner, and any problems I've had with greasiness were fixed by simply washing my scalp better (for a while I was being over-careful).
My last name falls in the middle of the alphabet. I can't say as I feel an overwhelming desire to beat everyone else to a deal. In theory, I can see where alway being last in line could develop this attitude. One way teachers and others could combat this tendency is switch it up periodically and start with the end of the alphabet. I had a teacher that actually did this every other day or so.
Man, you nailed it right on the head. Tracking your spending isn't about being finicky or following a strict budget. It's more about understanding what you spend money on so that you can adjust over time to funnel your money into things that align with your values (i.e. that give you the most pleasure). I've been tracking my spending for over a year now and have dramatically improved my financial life. Not only have I reduced my stress level from juggling money from paycheck to paycheck, I've paid off a high interest credit card, managed to save a few thousand dollars, and generally have made myself happier because I can spend money on things that bring me the most joy.

I'm a huge fan of grey sea salt on top of my chocolate caramels. I mean, back when I was able to eat those. :)
