I joined a gym when I turned 50 and I will be 55 this fall. I didn't have any exercise pants, so went to Goodwill and found a pair... gray with nay and white stripes up the side of the leg. With the exception of breaking out shorts a few times on the hottest summer days, I have work those same pants to the gym every time I have gone since... a couple times a week for four and a half years. For a woman, I think this must win some award for being boring.
Interesting article...as they say.."one man's trash is another man's treasure!" Though I can't say I've ever "dumpster dove," I have found things like furniture in mid-condition on sides of the street and always find timeless trinkets at garage sales. I like the fact that you mentioned how important courtesy is, I couldn't agree more. Once a dumpster diver leaves a mess on your lawn, this harmless activity gets a negative image unfortunately. But, if it's done in a respectable manner, everyone wins. Great way to recycle instead of waste also!
I've had my Discovercard for several years. I use it for almost everything (groceries, gas, utility payments...) and I pay off the balance every month. Every quarter, I sign up for the 5% deal (it changes every quarter). The rest of the time, I get 1% back. At the end of the year, I look at my year-end statement online. Each year, I earn from $250-$500 in cash back, which I usually apply to my balance. A few times, I've used my CashBack balance to buy jewelry at Ultradiamonds, and get 2 times my CashBack amount. (e.g., I had $40 in cash back which equaled $80 for a very nice pair of ear rings!) How much cash back did you get on your credit card or debit card or cash expenditures? Even if it's "only" $200, it's $200 more than I'd have had otherwise. Of course, this ONLY works if you pay off the balance every month. If you carry a balance and pay only the minimum, then you need to cut up your cards immediately. If you only charge a few hundred dollars each month, 1% isn't much. But if you STOP using your debit card/cash and ONLY use the checking account to pay off your Discovercard each month, you are cash ahead. e.g., if you spend $3000 per month for gas, groceries, utilities, lunch, whatever, 1% of that is $30 more than what you'd have had if you'd paid cash! (Self control is very important, of course.)

Thanks for the reply, Zorcy. I was working with 90% pure, off a reflux. I cut the heads and tails. I will try distilled water and let everyone know how it works. I've got to think that our well water, being hard, didn't get completely cleaned of the minerals by the Brita.
I must say that the cloudiness didn't hurt the taste. I used Liquor Quik's Kentucky Whiskey and their Southern Whiskey. Some pretty savy drinkers thought they were Jack and Southern Comfort, respectively.
Thanks for writing about this topic -- I recently read a magazine article that covered this topic and had been meaning to examine all my sunscreens.
The "baby" mention is of special interest to me but not b/c I have a baby. In the past (up until last year it seems), I've been able to use baby sunscreens on my face because they have been tear-free, no-run type products. This has come in handy if I'm on a long bike ride, miles from home, and it starts raining -- sunscreen in my eyes makes it impossible to see. Ditto if I'm swimming or canoeing or whatever around water. B/c of the changes in formulation (baby doesn't equal tear-free anymore) I'm back to square one in picking sunscreens -- or I was until I read your article. Thanks for the tips.
Don't actually get in the dumpster - no one can see you. When we were moving out of our apartment in college, we too purged inventory to essentials. Oblivious to the existence of a diver in our apartment dumpster, I heaved an excess portable fan over the wall of the dumpster only to hear a fleshy impact and bloodcurdling "OUCH!" Not expecting that, I, too, let out a sharp yell and ran inside. I felt bad for the guy, watching him crawl out from our apartment window with his hand over his head, but how was I supposed to know or expect that a person would be in the dumpster?
the millionaire was a white brother thats why he could think like that,.. honestly a black brother woudn`t do that what so ever,. we all about the floss.. different mindsets i guess. however, this million dollar man was disciplined, and thats a virtue that most of us dont have with our dollar.

You should use distilled water to cut. You could have something in your local water. Then again, you could have some oils in your product. How many times did you run it. Did you pull off heads and tails? What did you use for the wash, all sugar? try to freeze it and see if it drops out.
I saw after I posted lots of %20 people.
Even easier.
Round up 10
Divide by 10 (drop the 0)
multiply by 2
so $46
call it 50
leaves 5
5*2
10
Done.
Sometimes I round down for worse than average service.
I'm very nice to waiters and waitresses.
But once I got service so bad I left the guy a penny in my glass of water.
I still have not found an answer on solving the cloudiness problem. I have searched many sites.
To reiterate: I filtered both the water and the product. I poured the water into the product and got instant cloudiness that did not go away. Both were at room temp. We get our water from a well and it is probably hard to start with.
1. Should I have both at a higher or lower temp?
2. Does it matter if water is poured into product? Should it be the other way around?
3. Should I drip it in, as opposed to pouring?
4. Should I distill water for cutting purposes?
This is a great resource. Also really important to note that volunteers should always try to ensure that when working abroad the projects they are contributing to are sustainable and genuinly benefiting the communities and environments they are operating in. Lots of charities really work hard to implement this, I went away with Raleigh - http://www.raleighinternational.org - who work really hard to ensure this. Check them out also if you're thinking of volunteering abroad. Thanks for the great article!
If people know anything about their credit score, it's very little. At most, some only know that high is good.
But people rarely know how to raise it much less maintain a high one.
I've learned a couple of ways to raise a credit score and keep it high.
1. 2-3 active credit cards - I'm talking about major credit cards like American Express, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover. If you have retail cards like Nordstrom and Best Buy, I would suggest closing them. The bureaus just see those as avenues for consumer debt.
2. Increase your credit availability - Call your credit card companies to increase the credit availability on your cards. You don't want your balance on any card to exceed 30% of its availability. So, don't max out your credit cards!
Thanks for the article. I am having a hard time giving up my contract phone with AT&T. I need to bite the bullet and do it. I have been looking at TMobile and Pure TalkUSA. I am leaning more towards Pure TalkUSA.

Add milk, warm it up and you have "Bread and Milk" breakfast.
As the old people say, "Too much of something is bad enough." Use Sunscreen accordingly.

Excellent (and painful!) point and one that I'm sure isn't considered very often. Thanks!

Was looking on line for more causes, that about covers it. One suggestion they made, if you do not like the looks, distill again.

Opps. What a shame. I am a "No tipper" type of customer. I am usually in a budget as always. *Excuses* haha
I am a yogurt lover (strawberry yogurt). Healthy for your tummy. :)
net10 will spam your phone with ads, otherwise they are a good value.
my sons use net10 and love it, they have great coverage and probably the lowest pre-paid price. But they spam your phone with ads and will not stop.
I used to own a house painting business and we used them as paint strainers.

It's easier than you think.
Round your bill up to the nearest 10.
$3 for every 20.
$2 for an extra 10.
So, for a 46 dollar check.
Call it 50.
Two 20s and a 10.

When receiving gifts, my family would very carefully open them and smooth out the wrapping paper to use it again, as well as keep any bows or ribbons.
