Thanx the brasso worked! I have a performance disk(irreplaceable, but completly non-reading) that was found wedged under the seat of car where it slides along the metal, and looked hopeless. I now have 1.5 songs playing after only brasso and I am going to try the other methods to see if it will polish up a little. I am happy enough with what I have now though, great idea!
Hi, I have a friend who lives in Canada, she just started to use this tonic, eventhough she got the recipe from some guys we treat a golf field. She says that it is been working great on the lawn but my question is if this tonic can be applied directly to perennials and evergreens since she doesn't have any plant. I have pereennials, some fruit trees and pines and two of those (one white pine and one ireland pine) has been eaten by moths, they're becoming a big problem in my garden besides the grubs, just today I killed tlike 35 grubs as I worked in the garden.
I save the most money by grooming at home. A small investment in an assortment of brushes and nail clippers can save an enormous amount of money over time.
I also save money by using my own homemade pet shampoo, there are lots of recipes on the internet that are easy to make and affordable.
I agree with your article. I can't stand greedy, selfish people. And with these coupons it seems like it's only crappy stuff that I would never really eat anyway. I try and eat healthy like fresh fruits and veggies and plenty of organic products. Yes it cost more but I get to spend more time with my fam because I'm not spending 4 hours in a grocery store and god knows how many hours clipping and researching. Good thing I wasn't around when that selfish lady took all the meds I would have gone off. I completly agree get what you need not what you might need 20 years from now and save some for the rest of us.
These seem like really good points. I'm not a fulltime traveler, but do life abroad and encounter some of the issues you describe.
For me, the 'packing light' is the most difficult. I'm living somewhere but don't know exactly how long I will be here. Sometimes I like to get stuff for the house, to make it feel more like home, but than I don't cause I probably won't be able to take it with me when I move.
But if you're wiser, you should probably do this even before the light goes out - meaning, you should prepare your materials while there's still light. If and only if, you have anticipated that there will be a light cut-off, or electrical cut-off.
I have saved money and vet visits on my 3 dogs (Am Staff,Black and Tan Hound and Mini Schnauzer) by making sure Their Rabies vax are 3 year and all other vax are now in the 3-7 year protocol period-also feed the best organic/natural food I can afford and avoid any treats or foods with artificial colors or flavors-also split one can of sardines in water 2x each month and give raw marrow bones 2x each month-bathe 4x a year or as needed and give vinegar/water rinse to keep fleas and mosquitoes away
It’s hard to believe how many people have no idea how much they earn vs. how much they spend. Whenever someone says to me that they need more money I always ask them if they have a budget and if they track their spending?
9 times out of 10 they don’t have a budget and they wouldn’t have a clue what they are spending their money on (other than rent or mortgage repayments).
I normally suggest to these people that they download one of the many spending tracker apps for the iPhone or Android and start recording every single purchase (no matter how small) and come back and see me after 4-6 weeks.
Quite often the person in financial hardship discovers that they actually have more than enough money, they just never realized where it was all going. Once they prioritized their spending, many of their money woes disappeared.
The biggest thing that people fail to appreciate is just how much the little things can add up particularly when that money is put to better use and allowed to compound.
I had really bad experience with Modnique.com. By the time I finally got my order, it was too late for me to return it (the quality was really bad even considering the price).
1. Don't use dryer sheets--they are unhealthy. Bad chemicals. Put a little vinegar in your rinse and it will soften items.
2. Sorry, I just can't get with the washing of the swim diapers! Too gross.
I never used swim diapers, just made sure a regular diaper was on tightly. If a child pees, the swim diaper won't hold it anyway, since it will already be saturated with water from swimming. If a child poops, any kind of diaper--even cloth--will keep it in place, so you have time to get the kid out and changed.
Let's face it--if a child is in a diaper in the pool, the pee is going in the pool.
Am I correct in my thinking, or is there some benefit to the swim diaper?
Bloomberg got great free apps for iPad and iPhone.
You get high-quality articles about markets and companies, without much of the "noise" on the news aggregator sites, with content fully on par with WSJ and FT.
You had chocolate milk? We traveled almost exclusively to relatives for vacations. No dryer sheets. I remember when they came out with teflon pans, and permanent press. You only got a toy at Christmas or your birthday. We used the clothesline a lot, and really didn't have snacks. Once in a while, mother would make cookies. Desserts were for holidays, and when company came for dinner.
There was no furniture scratch cover. We had hard rock maple, and you better not do anything to the furniture. Plus, you played outside all day. We did not have air fresheners. You opened the windows for fresh air. Plus, the mattresses, and foundations got a good sunning twice a year. The pillows got it at least 4 times a year.
I have to disagree with your comments about kiddie jewelry. I have given it, and other trinkets, numerous times, and lots of kids have been thrilled. I've had kids go running from my door yelling, "Look! I got a bracelet!"
This one may sound strange to readers not in the deep South, but sometimes Halloween can be hot here. I've bought boxes of Otter Pops (the no-stick popsicles in the little plastic tubes) on clearance at the end of summer, chucked them in the freezer a week before Halloween, then handed them out. Again, I've gotten lots of very excited responses from the kids, and parents often let their sweaty trick-or-treaters open them right away for a small cool-down. It doesn't really reduce the sugar load any, but it is something different.
Volunteering is the best way for me, giving my financial situation, to contribute to the local charities in my area. In fact, a few months ago I participated in a park building project in one of the underprivileged areas in the community. I never how much fun it could be to actually dig holes and pour cement.
we have always taken our four legged family members to "discount" vets, we are now using Vetco and are extremely happy with them. they do their services at places like Petco. we had our dogs shots, heartworm test and heartworm meds purchased for a total of $98... for what we had done it would have easily been double at the vet.
i also buy treats at the dollar store, i dont believe the products are that much different from what u would pay at pet stores or even walmart. i also cut their nails, they may not like it, but eventually they just say "ok, this isnt fun but ok" - it beats paying $10 - $15 at a groomer or the vet.
all of our dogs have had nice loving long lives with us. of course, if there is something seriously going on we take them to the vet, and even there, i have bartered with the price, especially meds (since alot of the meds are for humans anyway) - you can take a vets prescription and have it filled at a pharmacy.
I have 4 large dogs (between 70 and 100 pounds) and we do all of our grooming ourselves (luckily 3 have short hair).
I feed them a high quality dry food, but I also supplement with whole chickens deboned & bought on sale for less than a buck a pound, white rice and vegetables from our garden. I cook up a crockpot full of chicken with no seasoning and divide it into feedings and store in Ziplock bags in the freezer until I need it. That way I don't have to cook for them every day, I just make the rice, reheat the chicken and add veggies. This cuts down on their yard waste because their bodies absorb more nutrients = less poop. As long as I get the chicken on sale, it is actually cheaper to feed them fresh food versus commercially manufactured dog food. I feed them dry food once a day to help keep their teeth clean and to make sure they are getting the nutrients they need. They don't have a lot of toys because they have plenty of playmates and are walked daily.
These are great tips! I kind of felt that wareshouse clubs weren't always the best deals. I think there are great deals that can be found at a Sam's Club or Costco, but you are right, a lot of the items aren't really cheaper than some of the deals you can just find in regular stores or Walmart. In addition, the warehouse clubs require a paid membership and don't accept coupons.
We stay out of pet stores, everything is overpriced. We buy dog food at a local feed store in huge bags. It costs more up front compared to buying 20lb bags at a grocery store, but you get more for the money. My mother in law is an equestrian trainer, and when the vet makes a house call to check out the horses we bring our dogs by to be seen for vaccines. Country vets offer the same services but don't charge as much as vets with fancy offices.
I checked my tires bought in Dec 08, from Americas Tires and the code was 3607. So it would appear they sold me tires already 15 months old. I'll watch closer next time
My wife pays the cell bill. I happened to look at it when considering an upgrade and noticed $500+ of fraudulent charges over am 8 month period. ATT would only reverse 60 days of charges ($70). I asked for a supervisor and they gave me a $25 credit. We never consented to any charges. ATT was rude about it. $105 of the charges were for ATT Family Map AFTER we cancelled that service 7 months ago. They only refunded $30 of that and told me to contact locationlabs.com even though Family Map is an ATT service. I have had a 5 phone plan with ATT for 15+ years. Finally they gave me another $100 credit and $30 off of the bill for the next 6 months. Even so, I am paying $970 to cancel and move to Verizon. Verizon will give me $1000 for my used phones but I might have to pay $1000 for 5 iphone5s. All these scammers need is your cell # and the cooperation of ATT. It took me an hour to block "Mobile downloads" because you must do it by calling - not on the web or on your phone menu. ATT WANTS you to pay those charges. I feel violated and I will no longer participate even though I have been a customer and a stockholder since 1983. Yes, I will also sell my stock.

What companies are you referring to in these states? What are their names please?
Is this for men only?
we take our cats to the weekend clinic at pet stores to get their shots. Much cheaper than the vets.

I totally agree with you. You should not ignore the calls and answer them even though you're facing financial difficulties. Great advices here!
