I found a nice trail near our new house, and use it for jogging and walking the dog. It's on a hill, which makes it more work than just a flat road. Plus the scenery keeps it interesting.
I live in a small rural town in Central IL. We do have a grocery store in town, but it is expensive to shop there all the time. The town about 20 miles away has an a wide selection of shopping places, including an Aldi store. I can purchase everything that my family of 4 needs for an entire week for around $55.00. I will have to say that I do have a stockpile of meat in my freezer, so I generally don't purchase any meat items at Aldi with the exception of lunch meats. Love Aldi!!
I think people forget about the hidden costs of the holidays. I'm guilty of buying a new top when maybe I could just wear a festive colored one that I already have. Thanks for the reminder. I'm hoping to score some cash back this year.
I signed up for my gym membership when it was at a savings of $4 a month. Then I pre-paid for a 12-month membership, which also got me an extra 6 months free. The gym meets all my basic needs at a much cheaper cost than many other gyms nearby. The gym is a little greater distance away from my home, but the savings is worth it.
In addition, I have some basic cheap equipment and workout DVDs at home for times I want to mix things up or can't make it to the gym.
General transcription is an excellent work-at-home career! I've been a work-at-home general transcriptionist for more than seven years now. It's a flexible career which requires little in start-up costs.
It was a godsend when my children were younger, and I was newly divorced. Unlike medical transcription, most general transcription companies will hire newbies, as long as they are able to pass the company test.
I can't believe that Christmas is almost a month away. I love this time of the year and I am even going to get my Christmas tree a little bit early this year. Great post. I hope that everyone is getting the holiday cheer.
i do not need an expensive wedding. I just need help to get my boyfriends mom here and just maybe about 500.00 for my wedding. My Pastor said he will not charge me. I have a church and there are people giving me a reception for free. I just need help with the licience, my inexpensive dress, suit for him, and my ring. He already has a ring. If there is anyone out there that can help please send money to 5417 John Washington Rd. Brown Summit, North Carolina. We are having trouble getting bills paid and wanting to do what is right in gods eye's. It would be much appreciated and may God Bless you. and Thank you. Wendy Britton
I love making homemade gifts, it's so much more personal than going out to the store and buying something. People really appreciate the time and effort you put in.
I always make big platters of little christmas puddings (covered in chocolate), chocolates molded in christmas themes & chocolate covered strawberries and deliver them to friends and family a few days before Christmas. It's perfect because people always have people dropping in around that time of the year and gives them something to offer others!
Instant mashes potatoes could be made Thanksgiving day pretty quickly. Thanks for the advice. I featured your article on the Frugal News Review podcast episode 22.
I volunteer to take kids on hikes and campouts..(believe me this can be a real workout)
Since it is easier for me to be active with someone else along...a few friends & I meet every am durring the week to walk around the highschool track or the park. We started slow as we all needed to lose weight and get in shape.
My whole family walks to the liberary each week (over 2 miles round trip) except if it's over 100 (we live in Florida) or raining hard.
I take us to as many fair, festival, and special outtings as I can, as the family is having so much fun, they don't realize they are getting fit in the process!!!
Around once a month we have a service day where we go rake leaves, mow lawns, clean up yards, wash cars etc..for the elderly neighbors...
Just put fun in excersize and it won't be a chore...just something you'll look forward to!
I put old socks over the end of my ladder (0one pair over each side ) to avoid marks , scratches or damage to walls / paintwork or wallpaper. You don't need to change them as they last for ages.
One of the easiest ways to interest our home schooled daughters in different things has been to leave books around the house. All three girls have learned new things and been exposed to their sisters' books because we are messy with books all over the place. I used to read a large percentage of the same books my husband read, now I don't because he reads electronically and I don't see his books.
I will certainly miss the "around the house " aspect of home schooling if all we read is electronic.
Corn starch is GMO and if soy is soya it is also GMO.... I need to find a recipe that is both gluten free and GMO free.... GMO is too risky for someone who already has Celiac disease....
I used to agree with this, until I got a Kindle. Now I cannot believe I ever read paper books. My house used to be cluttered with read, half-read, and to-be-read books. I recently sold four bookshelves, having sold or donated their contents. I have breathing room, and I still read a book a week on average. I never lent books, so I don't care if I cannot loan an ebook. I never resold them, so I don't care that I can't sell them. I do reread them. I just don't store them. Happiness.
I received this card in the mail on 11-15-2012 and was totally baffled. I showed it to my husband and he researched it online and came up with this site. Thank you for explaining this because the fact that it was a real card that I had not applied for really threw me for a loop. I am going to shred it. It never ceases to amaze me how people scam other people. Do they ever stop to think about how they would feel if it was done to them? Unbelievable. It is really scary how clever they can be. You are wise to doubt everything which is a shame but it just may save your bacon.
When I lived in town, I got extra exercise by walking to the post office every day to mail my packages out -- I had my son in his stroller, and we'd walk around town afterwards. Now that we're in the country, I miss doing that -- the roads are too busy to walk on safely. At the moment, my exercise consists of picking up after everyone...lol...
Glad you are going to keep trying. Even if lenders don't become less strict, a higher home value could qualify you for lower rates.
You might consider the lazy approach of letting lenders find you through one of the aggregated loan services. I've looked at Zillow's service, for example, and you don't have to enter personal information to get loan quotes, though you do enter info about your loan, home, etc.

Stocking up the freezer is such a great idea. I would prepare sauces and sides for Christmas dinner and just thaw them the day before.

First you should create a budget to see how much money you have available. Check this for a good budget planner: www.planthebudget.com
Previously turned down for HARP, but now qualify under the new program. Also, it is a no-fee refinance. I'm cutting my rate in half.

I have a very inexpensive gym membership ($25/month). I do also have a rowing machine at home I use sometimes.

you are right on, and be sure not to piss off Jessica Remmers because she will shut you down as a shopper with no recourse.
Hi, guest. Yes, I could, and I would love to. I am looking into it! Thanks for the comment!

To each their own (book).
