Eating sugar works the best for me. I worked in a physical therapy clinic and was getting them everyday for awhile, and I received and tried most of these tricks. There were so many people that would swear by the other methods and they never worked for me. I ended up keeping sugar packets at work to be sure I wasn't embarrassed for too long!
Ric. She also said she can travel for less, but chooses not to. Plus she is not just including traveling expenses but also certain expenses related specifically to business. She chooses to travel in nicer classes and stay in nicer accommodation. She also does it to spend enough to be comfortable to make it sustainable for years. I can do a lot of things for one year I do not do for multiple years. This is not a RTW vacation to her. It is her life.
I take 9 small sips of water. After each sip I say my full name (usually under my breath). I take two more sips without saying my name, making it 11 sips total. Hiccups gone. It works everytime.
Because hiccups are just a spasm of the diaphragm, anything that controls the diaphragm will stop the hiccups. I find that what works best for me is to breathe out very long, very slow. Imagine that you've got a match in front of you and you need to make it flicker without blowing it out. Now keep breathing out until you feel your lungs collapsing, then keep going. Breathe out slowly until there is absolutely no air left in your lungs.
And voila! No more hiccups! One iteration is enough.
No. A few of my relations are problem gamblers, and I have seen them lose a lot (both possessions + relationships). My parents, who are now retired, love to play poker (slot) machines a few times a week, for hours at a time. Admittedly, here in Australia, gambling is much more accessible and gaming machines and clubs are everywhere. I can understand the appeal of limiting yourself to a small amount, say, $50, for entertainment's sake, but frankly, I can think of dozens of other ways I'd rather spend my time : )
Well I tried this recipe after just reading the comments attached to it on pinterest. So I missed a few ingredients I just used the banana, oats, applesauce, raisins, vanilla and cinnamon. They are actually very good.
I don't gamble on a regular basis, for example I don't play the lottery, but I have occasionally gambled. Last year, my husband and I took a weekend trip to Windsor and spent a couple hours at a casino playing the games. We didn't spend much, but it was a fun night, and we spent less than going to the movies!
WOW, these are some GREAT TIPS! This article has definitely inspired me to do some more traveling. These tips are great for anyone interested in backpacking or just traveling on a budget. Thank you.
I like buying the $5 scratch off tickets once in a while. If I win 5 bucks, I will trade it for another ticket. If I win 25 bucks, I will get another $5 ticket and use the rest of the money toward an extra treat at the store or grabbing a subway sandwich, or a haircut, or anything else I happen to need or want at the moment.
This article is really great, and I agree with all of them except the abicus. As an engineer, I love my TI-89, but even if I didn't need a calculator that has more functions than anyone can use in a lifetime, I would definitely go for the dollar store calculator, which works great for day-to-day use, and can work in most basic math classes.
This is a good list, and good reminder about that you ARE signing up for the companies newsletters but its missing some really good ones.
Au bon pain, jersey mikes, which witch, and sticky fingers are just a few places with birthday freebies that weren't mentioned. I have links to these, and a lot of other ones that I think are worth signing up for on my blog at http://youngandcentsible.blogspot.com/p/birthday-bash.html
I also really like the list compiled on hey its free: http://www.heyitsfree.net/birthday-freebies/, with over 150 freebies listed, its pretty comprehensive, if not overwhelming.
I've bought two dozen or so Ralph Lauren Polo dress shirts for under five bucks each at my local thrift store. I've also picked up a few Brooks Brother's oxford dress shirts. Many of them still have tags from the dry cleaners on them when I buy them. And I've picked up a camel hair blazer and a few other blazers. Classic styles that never really go out of style.
I will gamble as entertainment-- I love to go to bingo with my aunt! We only will have a little cash to spend but when it's gone were done. Or if we're not having fun. We love neighborhood poker nights- usually just a $5 buy in. Also, we have signed up for casino club cards and won really money from the "$5 free game play". The best way to gamble in my opinion!
I used to when I thought it might be a way to get easy money. I have learned that the chances are slim to none. I will say that I will go in on the lottery once in a great while with some friends when it gets large, but that is only a few dollars every 6 months or so.
I don't go to casinos to gamble. However, if I'm lucky, my husband and I will go to Saratoga, NY to bet on the horse races in the summer. I usually bring about $40 and will place $1 or $2 bets. If I'm up, I may make a slightly larger bet. If that money runs out, then that's it. The nice thing about Saratoga is you can go with a group of people and bring coolers of food to have a picnic. We usually make a day of it and it's always been a lot of fun.

IS THIS MIXTURE SAFE FOR PETS.... WITH A GRASS OUTDOOR RUN FOR MY DOGS, I WOULDN'T WANT THEM TO GET TIPSY FROM THE BEER...
I guess this would be called 'The Water Method'

A website to try is Betterbargainz. They carry a little bit of everything and have pretty fast shipping.

If you are a Costco member they will fill your ink cartridges while you shop and are pretty inexpensive.

FHA loans are ineligible for most of these deals. Still very frustrating, especially if credit isn't great and you can't do a FHA streamline refi.

I used coconut milk instead of almond. Is that a big difference because the cookies did not flatten at all.

No, l don't gamble. I don't have money to waste on gambling, especially when I don't have much luck!
I save a bit more with using the foaming hand soap pumps. I did an article on the right ratio of hand soap to water when you refill them! http://arizona.todaysmama.com/2012/05/diy-foaming-hand-soap-refill/ It may not save much, but it adds up over time.
I like you on facebook!

That last paragraph is pretty nasty! Wow!
I've tended to hit up the Raid more often than not, but you give some great alternatives here. A friend of mine swears by lemon juice though.

I really need to learn to be kinder.
