Yes! Some things the amount of money you pay has no correlation with the joy it can bring you. Granted, they can be too expensive, and one needs to watch that things don't get out of control. But if it is a good pet, that bring you and your family happiness. Then it is well worth the cost.

We're enrolled in savings programs with PetSmart and PetCo to get points toward discounts, but refuse to buy cheap food for the dog since she has a sensitive stomach. But to be honest, the benefits way outweigh the costs, which are pretty minimal - about $50 a month.
These are wonderful!!! I even adapted a recipe for chocolate pasta and made a wonderful dessert with chocolate noodles, strawberries and chocolate sauce. I have also made angel hair with this noodle recipe adding a bit more flour so they wouldn't stick together...actually much better than prepackaged dried wheat pasta. Didn't have much luck with your French Bread but the tortillas were a real gift. Next...Sandwich Bread.
I think it depends on what you are using it for. If you have a really small business and just put your taxes under your normal tax return, a personal card is fine. But when you officially setup an LLC and have a separate EIN etc. this is when you want to build up credit for your small business as an entity in itself. This is when you should apply for a business credit card.
When my daughter was unable to work and waiting for a disability hearing, she adopted a cat from a rescue group. The companionship was vital, since she spent most of her days in an apartment, unable to do very much.
The cat was (and still is) very loving, so my daughter always had this funny little creature nearby. And when the cat still acted kittenish, it provided much-needed laughter.
I was helping her financially at the time and never begrudged the addition of a small pet to her budget.
Truly amazing! So many of us are in LOVE with travelling, but are limited by money. You've shown that if we really want to travel at a fraction of the price - it's possible!
I totally agree with this. Store credit cards are the WORST option for anyone. There's a reason they're begging you to sign up, they make more money on interest than anything they sell. it's such a scam that I practically put it in the same category as the Nigerians sending emails claiming that they're a relative lost at sea and need you to wire money into an account. ;-0

Julie, this is a great article because of the inclusion of the personal and interest area networks. Many people fall into the trap of compartmentalizing their lives and with it their networks. When they are thinking of work, they only look at their professional networks but the reality is, you never know who is sitting next to you at the PTA meeting or at the book club. Additionally, it increases your opportunity to be a connector - when you can link two people in your network for something completely out of your sphere! Personal networks expand your circle exponentially and transcends age groups.
Of course! It's not even a question. Pets bring us so much happiness and they become your family. There are so many animals that get put down because they can't find good homes, so how about we learn to budget so that we can add them to our lives!
I save because we just found out we are pregnant with number 4. I want to be able to give my boys things I didn't have and help them pay for college. The future is what you make of it.
No. You are in luck. I don't think that you will lose the benefits if you are offered the job and decline. As it is not a reasonable commute you don't have to take it.
In NY State, a reasonable commute is 1 hour by car and 1.5-2hours by public transportation. Don't hold me to this. Check the department of unemployment rules for your state. Good luck!@

I didn't know you could purchase wi-fi ahead of time for the plane ride. That's awesome! I also didn't realize you could use Instapaper to view offline pages. Great tips Linsey, thank you for sharing your experience!
It varies so unpredictably. Depends on your area (rural vs. urban vs suburban), what the company you're signed on with has going on, what types of shops (most are reimburse shops), and the time/energy you have to put into it.

I honestly don't think they're worth the cost if you're in debt like me. I can't even take care of myself, let alone a pet!
