Any high-quality shoe brand suggestions for women? Perhaps it’s in my head, but it seems like men have more options when it comes to quality shoes. Even the “nicer” brands for women tend to be poorly made and made of mostly synthetic materials. I’d love to find some quality shoes that’ll last for years but I’ve had a hard time.
I think it's possible, but it's so subjective that I hate to judge it - if it's not harming you or your family or society, then it's to each his own I guess
OOOh, Is $13000 supposed to scare me back in line with the fantasy that I could be a 1%er living in luxury on old money investment income? Let's think about the dollars left in their overflowing pockets. Am I supposed to feel sorry for them when I have nothing left after health care expenses and my 25%?
The overall premise is sound, the only caveat would be loaning a car.
I investigated this thoroughly when my wife was driving her aging parents around quite a bit in their car. The insurance company advised them to add her to their policy. The amount of liability afforded the owner might be quite limited. It won't begin to cover the legal expenses if the person has a serious accident resulting in injury to him/herself or others. I'd say renting a car might be more prudent, especially with the amount of litigation that almost always occurs with an accident involving injuries.
Guest,
You can boil your mash in anything. They will cut the top off and it becomes a large pot for boiling. We use them for making beer. Stainless and aluminum are free of, or so low in ferrous, iron, that a magnet will not stick. Take a carpet knife and see if you can cut it. Aluminum will cut a little. Stainless steel will hardly leave a scratch. When you try to cut it, it will cut like butter if its aluminum. Stainless will eat up a few cutting wheels to remove the top.
If you plan on it being for the still, be same and take it to a machine shop. They can tell, and add the fittings to make it real easy to attach all the parts you need.
@Kacie: We went through the same thing: should we take some out of the Roth to put down a larger down payment? We decided not to and have since made a point of not touching it, but it's nice to know it's there in case anything happens.
You are beautiful ... for having 4 kids and still finding time to share your productivity rules...for sharing something which makes a lot of practical sense to me...and also for your looks :)
Regarding my productivity Rule, these days I am experimenting on habits...so I have a list of things I feel if I do would help live a life I would like to. I give points to each thing depending on how important they are to me. Then I have a small printout for a month that i keep in my wallet, I use it to record on which days I did which habit(s)...I have a big gift planned for me when I reach certain points.
This is my second month of trying it out...
Sure, it's possible to be too frugal. You can take everything to an extreme, and once you get beyond a certain point, it becomes detrimental in some way. If you're so busy all the time finding ways to save money and always worrying about not saving enough, you're not going to have any time to appreciate what you do have.
You always need to be in control of your finances, but you can't let them control you.
There is a point that it practically becomes an obsession where you try to stretch out the usefulness of items so much it just isn't practical anymore. Frugal is being smart with your money by making sure you get more per dollar and not just avoiding something in order to not spend the money.
Well, I have a bank account AND just got her "Approved Card" in the mail today! Regions Bank charged me $10 for my account and $4 for using my card... Suze only $3. I saved $11! Now, I left regions and went to a Credit Union where my account is FREE however, I never use it. I only use that as a savings. I DO NOT carry that Credit Union card on me. That's what Suze's "Approved Card" is for! If my card is stolen, they will ONLY be able to take what I put on the card, instead of EVERYTHING like in my Credit Union. I am safer shopping online with her card than my bank card. That's common sense.
Personally I believe most people don't like her because that don't like "Standing in the Truth" because it's hard to do.... I get it. But you'll be better for doing it.
Now, I have question... Who else is really stepping up to help America? Really... NO ONE! I can only think of TWO others. Let's not beat up Suze Orman for trying to help us. If you don't agree with her style that's fine but at least try & express it in a way that builds everyone up.
By the way, I believe what everyone here and the community coordinator failed to see and point out is that SUZE ORMAN has more to lose by having this card then we do!
My roommate in college was WAY too frugal. Nobody would go out with him because he always wanted to fight with the wait staff about the bill.....not fun.
It is possible to be too frugal. If you're making sacrifices that take all the enjoyment out of life or negatively impact important relationships in your life, you may have gone too far.
Frugal, at least my definition, is being exceptionally smart with spending money or getting the most out of a product. I don't think a person can be too frugal as long as it doesn't impact safety or health of themselves or others. If they're happy with it, so be it.

Started this a year ago. Best investment a man can make.

Horizon milk is the best milk on the market, your husband has great sense of taste.
I liked the article on facebook!

Would have rated this article higher if the writer hadn't included a paid book app. Just use stanza or one of the of the dozen or so other free apps.
Tv sets unrealistic expectations, also I recall the Brady's having one car.
I like wisebread on facebook.
True. My mother used to remember that place and the date she meet my dad, but always forget to take her medications. My mother by the way is 71.
Yes.. You can be too frugal. If you pull apart 2ply toilet tissue to make 2 rolls of single ply, then that's too frugal... and scary..

Yes kegs are steel not aluminum
You can generally tell whether something is made of steel with a magnet (which won't stick to aluminum, but will to steel).
Yes, if it reduces your quality of life.
I honestly don't believe that you can be too frugal. However, you can carry it too far and become cheap which may endanger your health and well-being.
