The best investment I made recently has been a a laser printer so I can print my resume! I have been job searching for some time so this has been invaluable.
The best investment I made was in my health..I let go of the sugar and carbs, I buy organic foods..the dividends are great! I'm not wasting tons of $ on medical bills like a lot of people my age, I save a lot of $ on cosmetic procedures because the food I eat keep me looking young...there is NO better investment out there!
My first iPhone (3GS) was an excellent investment. No matter where I was, I could look up prices, contact anybody, and keep up to date with news. I can deposit checks to paypal, make stock trades, check my account balances, and use coupons to save money on products & services.
The smartest investment I've made was undoubtedly returning to college to complete my degree. Three years in the workforce enabled and convinced me that spending the money and time to get that diploma was a good idea. And the thirty years since graduating confirmed the wisdom of that decision. Increased earning power let me pay off student loans within a couple years, but the self confidence acquired has been a priceless benefit during my entire professional career.
You shouldn't protect your skin during summer only. You need to protect it everyday. I'm taking omega 3 Fish oil extra everyday to make my skin soften and also make my skin looks younger. I also drink plenty of water and eat vegetables and fruits. I don't eat oily and fatty foods. I also avoid sun exposures.
Trans fat is the common name for unsaturated fat with trans-isomer (E-isomer) fatty acid(s). Because the term refers to the configuration of a double carbon-carbon bond, trans fats may be monounsaturated or polyunsaturated but never saturated.
Starting a retirement fund while I was younger and working full time.
My husband looked ahead for our future and now we have a nice retirement fund to look forward to during our retired years.
My smartest investment is my HP laptop. I have used it in college to study electrical engineering and a minor in computer science, which meant I was on it constantly. And now, pursuing a MD degree. Its fast processing power, long battery life and amazing colors has helped me visualize the human body and learn in a way that wasn't possible in the past. I am a very visual learner and so for me, this laptop will help me save lives once I become a doctor.
The best investment I ever made was a laptop computer. I am not able to sit at a desktop computer for any length of time, but with my laptop i can sit comfortably for hours in my lazyboy. This allows me to read, research, post comments, and connect with friends through social networking. It is so freeing.
I live without air-conditioning here in Houston, Texas. Our summer, especially in august, are 100+ degrees with 100% humidity, so i honestly feel like it is possible in any environment to live without the a/c. I wont sit here and say how easy or comfortable it is in the summer, because honestly the summers are hard to deal with, and the heat is un-avoidable, especially between about noon and three or four, but all the same its live-able. The heat of the day makes our 85 degree nights a joy, theres no need to cover up during the night, i can essentially sleep anywhere i want in the house, i occasionally will sleep on my porch if its a beautiful night. I applaud anyone who is willing to go without a/c. Although i understand that especially for the elderly or the very young a/c may be a better bet, especially if they cannot remember to drink enough fluids or are not able to do so for themselves.
My best investment was to pay myself first. By having my checking account automatically transfer a small amount everytime i get my paycheck to my savings account, i was able to save up for my financial goals.. My emergency savings, down payment for a home, vacation, etc...
My smartest investment has been my power tools. They've allowed me to complete a lot of DIY projects around the house, saving our family quite a bit of money.
My smartest investment was taking word processing in high school. I was able to develop a super fast typing speed which helped me get a variety of well-paying temp jobs as a university student.
My greatest investment was the money spent for my education. I have a master's degree that is required for me in my job...a job I love to do every day!
I definately feel that when I get up earlier in the day to start my day- I of course don't feel like the day has just been poofed away and I can get much more accomplished.
My best investment was the 91 Cadillac I bought 2 yrs ago. This year it is considered a classic. It is fully loaded and all electric. Red with a black hard top. Little repairs and only 76,000 miles.
Managed share funds can be a very poor investment. I watched a relative's actively managed fund suddenly perform badly because the firm involved changed share managers after the existing manager retired. It's success relied on their skills - that were apparently not transferred.
Not to say the right share manager can't make you a lot of money, but simple share index trackers - properly structured - reputedly do better than 75% of managed funds and the fees are vastly lower - hence their lack of popularity with investment firms who, naturally enough, would prefer you to invest in something more profitable for them.
The best investment I have made was buying my town home just in time to get the tax credit. We absolutely love living here and out mortgage is less than what we were paying when we rented. In a couple of years we hope to rent our town home out, which will create some passive income for us. Thanks for the giveaway! :)
On apparel--I'd definately avoid the back-to-school clothing. September is high season for back to school (August too) so you'll pay more being part of the heavy traffic.
Best to buy in June and July, or wait until October. Better yet, try thrift shops--they never raise their prices for the seasons, and kids grow out of the clothing so fast anyway.

Daddy just spent a Sunday morning make these pickles with our three kids as I enjoyed my latte. :) Thanks

A new computer has been a great investment for me. Completing tasks faster has been great for me.
have you got any sites for the uk?
You are awesome! I was about to give up on my Vista laptop forever. Now, it works! Thank you!!!

Instead of peanut butter try peanut chips! It tastes the same but, i just love to put the little chips in!
My best investment was buying Netflix stock several years ago. I took some profits, but still hold some of the stock.
