Most items are ordered online and delivered through Peapod. Due to some health issues, this helps a lot because of difficulty carrying or moving heavy bags. Some items that are not available through Peapod I get at the local Shoprite, and sometimes I go to the local Aldi if they have something on special or a featured item only available for a week or two.
You can take in sandwiches, water, sodas, etc. It just can't be in glass containers. I have seen people pull out full meals & sandwich making stuff to eat while waiting for parades.
Nora - I agree with your point that the friendship changes. But if I were the friend bring asked to loan money to a friend I supposedly love and care for, I would rather risk losing the friend than seeing the friend destitute and homeless over $1000. At the end of the day, it comes down to one human being helping another during their greatest moment of need. We give to all kinds of causes (which is great), but the friend who has been their for you for decades is just not worthy of help. To Jack's point, there is definitely a MORAL element involved. No one is obligated to do anything for anyone, but let's not call eachother "friends" if we are willing to let another person suffer when we have the means to prevent that. I guess I'm just the type of person who would give you the shirt of my back if you needed it more than I did. I don't expect other's to be like me but I'm disappointed in how loosely we throw the "friend" term around without understanding it's meaning.
If you stay at one of the Disney resorts go out of your way to be very nice to the check in staff. My husband is very friendly and was so very excited when checking us in and they upgraded up to a one-bedroom suite free of charge. The staff is there to make your stay memorable so don't be afraid to mention a special occasion and they may do something.
I shop at Trader Joe's for most of my produce, nuts, almond milk, and cheese.
Kroger's has cheap produce but it isn't always fresh. I shop for shelf items at kroger's because their simple truth brand is fantastic! Plus, they have digital coupons, and you can save a lot that way.
I do shop at earth fare for salad lettuce and gluten free items. They have some good deals on organic produce as well. If there isn't a sale on produce though, food there can be expensive.
I SO totally agree with you. In my case, I knew my friend for over 25 years and had NEVER asked to borrow money ($1000) from him/her before until I was in a truly desperate situation. I have always felt that because they knew my circumstances, they should have offered long ago to help me due to drastic changes in my finances due to medical issues. You are right, it IS MORALLY wrong to NOT help a friend in a desperate situation when you can more than afford to do so. In asking, I was made to feel degraded and questioned as to whether I would truly use the money for the stated purpose because after all, another legitimate emergency might develop. I was speechless. I am sick over this because I would NEVER treat my worst enemy like this let alone a person I thought was a close friend. It was horribly difficult for me to ask in the first place. Like you, I support poor family members (sick and poor Mom, underage nephews born into poverty and neglect) so my financial situation is made even worse on top of my illness. I just didn't want to be in a tragic situation where after the fact, the friend says, "well if you had come to me I could have helped you out". In that situation, I would be mad at myself for letting my pride prevent me from seeking help from a friend with the means to help. I thought if I told the person the situation, then perhaps they would want to help me in order to help prevent a tragic situation. They agreed to give me the money, but I was treated as though I'm a serial borrower with a drug habit, which is not the situation at all. I'm still sick about it.
We shop at Costco and ShopRite, with occasional excursions to Trader Joe's. Milk at Costco is almost $1.50 cheaper than other stores, and the rotisserie chicken price can't be beat!
From online info, grapeseed oil is nothing more than a by-product of wine making, to maximise profits from the grape seeds that are otherwise disposed. It's great on the skin, but definitely not suitable for cooking, due to its high unsaturated fat content, meaning it's easily oxidised to other undesirable by-products when heated.
Walmart Neighborhood Market and Kroger. I prefer Kroger's produce and clearance items, but I wouldn't shop there if they had no loyalty program because the prices are too high otherwise.
I shop at a couple different stores for different items - Trader Joe's for a lot of pantry staples, Sprouts for bulk foods like dry beans and fresh produce, and Whole Foods actually has great prices on organic milk. I am very sensitive to price since I don't make much money, but the quality has to be there and I can't stand bad service.
First thing is to make my shopping list and my menus for the week based on what is on sale at the local stores. Then, I usually start my shopping at Aldi, finishing up at Meijer for the things I can't get at Aldi.
I am so glad I found this piece. I just received one of these cards in the mail and I've been going crazy trying to figure out what was going on. I called but the only way to get passed the voice prompts is with an active account. I sent off emails and was searching the internet for what to do when I came across this. This type of practice should not be allowed. Had the wrong person opened that letter, they could have activated the card, put money on it, and purchased whatever in my name. How can they be so irresponsible?
My local grocery store closed. Now I'm a peripatetic shopper - Albertsons, Smart & Final Express, Stater Bros, Trader Joe's, Target. Sometimes it's whatever I'm closest to, sometimes it's for a specialty item one of them might carry.
We shop for groceries at Walmart, but that is just because my husband is a HR manager there. If he didn't work there, we'd shop at Aldi's because of the prices and quality of their food.
That's awesome! Thank you for sharing.
Fred Meyer, Costco, Safeway, Amazon- wherever I can snag great deals.

"inverse relation curves of depreciation & amortization in the auto markets"
bahahahaha! Yea right! I got 30 examples that say so otherwise....

I shop at Trader Joes and whole foods.
I mostly shop at Trader Joe's. I like their quality and prices. Also, they may not have everything, but they have about 90% of what I need.

Sprouts/Target
Trader Joes!
Kroger is our place to shop. Love the savings from digital coupons.

I shop for groceries at my local Hy Vee store. I am able to get good deals by combining products on sale with coupons.
We love our local Aldi!
