What amazes me is that no one mentions the real problem. Cost of health care...the reason insurers cost what they do is due to a single month's medication costing $500. A outpatient surgery performed by a "specialist" being billed to insurance at $20000. Universities put doctors into debt for 20+ years, and medical companies sell that scalpel for $300 dollars...get my drift? Put a cap on what a doctor can charge...maybe we wont see $500 premiums plus another 6k out of pocket for a 40 year old male...
I would add that it's also a good idea to research credit unions. I have been using credit unions exclusively for the past 4 years. They have better rates, and they're always happy to see you. Plus, it takes money out of the hands of big banks, e.g., Wells Fargo.
I'm a 2nd grade teacher so I love that I don't sit at a desk all day, I laugh a lot at work, every day is both kind of predictable and totally different and I have a lot of control over what my day looks like.
And, of course, beyond all those reasons, the 16 weeks of paid time off a year ain't bad.
I'm sure you got s lot of comments on what you wrote. So you don't want to be taken advantage of YOU JUST WANT TO MAKE A PROFIT OFF YOUR WIFE? Why don't you just rent out that house and really get 3000 a month and let your wife find somewhere else to live. Hopefully not with you. Yeah you're a jerk.
I'm an adjunct professor, and I teach freshman courses. I love working with young people in a job that teaches ME every day. I'm constantly learning new things to pass on to my students. I get to encourage them and (occasionally) get them excited about learning.
Thank you for your kind comment. First World Pooping is the same debt I have been whinin *ahem* writing about all year for my 2016 budget challenge. (But now you know its Han Solo-worthy name).
If my life were simpler, what would I ever write about?
And, uhn. Yes. The house. That's next year's project so stay tuned.
I'm not sure that every Madewell takes jeans so call your local store in advance. The denim is chopped into little pieces to make the insulation, you can donate your most ragged jeans. My local store gives out discount cards for the purchase of new Madewell jeans to denim donors, so you might get a little treat for your good work. I'm glad you found the link to Terracycle helpful! (You have no idea how much time I spend scouring the internet for helpful links for my readers. Thanks for validating my work).
I work as a domestic violence advocate, and the work can be so rewarding. When I feel like participants are genuinely more empowered and safe, when I get to see them find their voice, it is incredible.
I'm having extreme guilt / feeling bad about buying a new car. I just got it last Saturday and I've been nothing but miserable since. I got one of those lease deals on new, but last year's model cars. Basically your Number 2 and 4 above. Hit both of those. I just don't know why I can't feel good about it.

There used to be some kind of blue bird that sat on my command line. Do you know anything about them?

I take small steps towards achieving my goal instead of pending it for later. Small steps do make a difference and motivate us.
I like the paycheck and vacation days.
The best part of my job is the paycheck. We were all hoping for change this year, but it didn't come. 2017 has to be better!

i like my coworkers the most and the flexibility
@Guest--Do you consider this comment in any way helpful? Or let me say it another way: Get out of here with that condescending tripe.
The fact that it is over.
Now these are some awesome tips that I will be sure to use. I never thought about that with the big mac, but it makes sense. Thanks for the tricks!

I like how I work part time so I have more time and also it's close to my home.

If I was this fella I would hide all the crayons.
Hi J.-
Back Deck and Alaska sound way more fun that First World Pooping. You win on account names.

Olivia-
Thank you so much for chiming in with your expert advice. Only donating clean and sellable items is a financial win for everyone.
I like interacting with people.
Not having to go to it, since I retired. :-)
The paycheck.
