If you heat up 5 gallons of water, you have to heat all the liquid to 210 deg F to get it to evaporate. With alcohol, you have to heat it to about 175 deg F. The harder you heat it, the faster it will separate. You only need to drive off the 18% of the volume. With water, you are always pushing the 100% of the volume to go faster. Just buy it from the store in a gallon jug, if you can. Experiment with your local water. In Kentucky, in the States, they use stream water, it is high in minerals that give it unique flavours. Who knows, you may have great water for that too!
I still don't understand how to do a budget! I found an excel sheet that looks like real good stuff about a 0 budget and spending all the money before it comes in and the like, as well as many others but I have a small paycheck! And it is a different amount every 2 weeks so how can I budget with the fluctuation being so random?
I'm not the most knowledgeable about money in general, at least in making it work for me. So investment advice for the newbie, particularly when it comes to making sure I have enough for retirement!
I agree - most people often have only their short term interests in mind when making personal or business insurance most of the times which is usually very short sighted & ends up costing the person / business more in the long term, more stress & usually leaves a bitter taste in thier mouth knowing they did the wrong thing at the time and now it is costing them...

I can even walk away and brew my coffee during waiting! I even thought about reinstall my computer! My friend recommended the software tuneup360 and Norton systemwork. I tried both. Norton did look really powerful and could do lots of thing, but it was too difficult for me and too expensive, while Tuneup360 is my type. I just need to click one big “fix now” button and get my computer fixed. Now my computer takes only 30 sec to start up.
I wanted a coupon oraganizer ($4 on Amazon), but I couldn't keep stuffing coupons into a 15 year old broken pencil case, so I bought it for myself. Now the only thing I need to replace is my crock pot. I've been hunting down sales so I can tell my family when to pounce!

However their cheerleaders often forget to mention the flip side that really brings this statistic into perspective.
Flip this over and now consider the fact that the top 1% have about 42% of the nations wealth. That is only the top 1%, if you consider the top 3% we are probably talking near 48% of the nations wealth concentrated in the hands of 3% of the population.
Now the 25% discretionary spending seems downright miserly. You want to know why we are in a debt crisis, it is because the bottom 97% who controls around 52% of the wealth has to spend the remaining 75% to keep our way of life going.
Meanwhile as belts tighten fundamental programs such as education and scientific research are being cut. These cuts dont affect the top 3% as they can readily send their children to the best school money can buy, but what about everyone else? Based on world history, if this trend continues political instability will ensue and the top 3% won't be able to wall themselves off from its effects. Fix it now or fix it later, it will get fixed.

Well, I have now built my still and she is a beautiful thing too, a 5' high reflux made out of a 3 gallon tea urn with 54mm copper pipe rising then going down to 22mm copper pipe inside 35mm pipe used as a condenser with a small pump continuously pumping iced water round from the sink.
I can get 1.3 gallons of 65% shine from 5.5 gallons of 18% turbo yeast wash in about 1.5 hours.
I have reduced it to 50% with distilled water and put oak chips in with 4 litres of it to hopefully get some sort of whisky, I have also bought some flavourings to make it slightly more palletable but they are yet to arrive.
I need to thank you guys for all the advice you have given to everyone which has helped me to achieve this beautiful product.
Oh as a note, it takes me longer to distill water (to cut with) with it than it does to distill the alcohol, any reason for this?
Great post! I use canned beans all the time because I'm too lazy to cook dried beans. The funny thing is that I constantly use them in dishes that I then freeze, and it never occurred to me to make a big batch of dried beans and freeze those. One of those palm-to-the-forehead moments. I'll definitely try the dried beans next time!
I don't understand why people can't use free sites such as webs, yola, wordpress or blogger. They can always transfer a custom domain name, and then they'll have free hosting. Files can be uploaded, monetizing with PayPal and Google Checkout is a snap. Why buy the cow when the milk is free?
Love this idea. Innovation and an entrepeneur's mindset is essential in this economy. In challenging times, your company needs to know what differentiates you from all of your other competitors (co-workers). Also, we are not necessarily going to be at the same company for a long time, so these projects are the best way to showcase our skills.
Spending is subject to habits just like everything else we do. If someone has a bad habit to kick a little shock will get their momentum going.
Knowing how much your credit balance costs you is some excellent motivation to file your card away somewhere and never take it out again. At least it did for me. Of course, I always knew that my debts (of which a 10% APY credit card was half) were costing a considerable amount, and I was making a regular effort to overpay to clear them. However, until I had some hard numbers to look at I didn't really push my frugality as far as I could in order to make serious progress.
Up until that time the credit card was like a bank account. After paying other bills I would transfer most of my remaining checking balance to the card and then use the card to make non-food purchases as needed. That seemed to make sense, but in the back of my mind there was this lurking notion that having paid off $x I could once in a while spend up to $x and it wouldn't be so bad. In the end it was a very bad approach, because after two years I still had credit card debt to pay off.
