I always add one cup of ordinary household ammonia to the liquid lawn food I buy and spray it on all summer long ! It cannot burn the grass in hot weather like granular fertilizer that is very expensive and can be corrosive and toxic.....and my lawn is very green !
I don't currently volunteer but would like to find something I can consistently commit to. I think it's nice to take the focus off ourselves sometimes and put it towards someone or something else. It can be a reality check!

I volunteer through my kid's school activities and in the community. As a single mom I don't have a lot of extra money to donate to worthy causes so instead I volunteer my time. I am treasurer for the booster club of my son's lacrosse team and I was a member of my older son's Project Graduation committee. Our family also donates our time every year to collecting for our community's Crusade for Children.
I volunteer for various educational, historical and preservation related groups. I do the website and Facebook pages for the Indiana Lincoln Highway Association.
Good for them! Amazing what intentionality can do. They budget (planning ahead), understand opportunity costs (set priorities), and don’t make excuses. What a concept! Financial fitness, as I like to call it, doesn’t come from how much we have, but how we behave with how much we have. Should they live like this forever? No, hopefully they can continue to increase their income. But they’re well on their way to mastering the single most important component of personal finance – behavior.
